Key Responsibilities

The Senior Specialist - Group Accounting will serve as a strategic leader, responsible for steering the group’s accounting operations with precision and foresight. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Financial Governance and Compliance: Develop, implement, and enforce robust accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard financial integrity and ensure full compliance with international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
  • Financial Reporting Excellence: Oversee the meticulous preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, delivering timely, accurate, and insightful reports to senior management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison with external auditors, regulatory authorities, and financial institutions to ensure seamless audits, compliance reviews, and transparent financial disclosures.
  • Strategic Financial Leadership: Provide executive leadership with data-driven financial insights, recommendations, and analyses to support long-term strategic planning, risk management, and capital allocation initiatives.
  • Regulatory Adaptability: Monitor evolving accounting standards, regulatory changes, and industry best practices, proactively assessing their impact on the organization and driving necessary adjustments to maintain compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Process Optimization: Champion continuous improvement initiatives within the group accounting function, leveraging technology, automation, and best practices to enhance reporting accuracy, reduce cycle times, and elevate overall financial performance.
  • Team Development and Mentorship: Cultivate a high-performance culture by mentoring, coaching, and developing accounting professionals within the group, fostering talent growth and aligning team objectives with organizational goals.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees, such as a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) or professional certifications like Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), are highly advantageous.
  • Professional Experience: A minimum of three years of progressive experience in group accounting, with a proven track record in leadership roles within similar functions. Candidates should demonstrate a deep understanding of financial consolidation, regulatory compliance, and IFRS standards.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS, financial consolidation methodologies, and regulatory frameworks, coupled with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Exceptional leadership abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to manage cross-functional teams, influence stakeholders, and drive organizational change.
