Site Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Engineer to oversee all civil construction activities associated with STC telecommunications projects. This critical role involves managing the development of telecom sites, towers, shelters, fiber optic infrastructure, and related civil works. The ideal candidate will ensure that all construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in strict adherence to STC standards, project specifications, and quality benchmarks. The Site Engineer will play a pivotal role in driving project success by maintaining rigorous oversight of timelines, budgets, and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Supervision and Coordination: Lead and coordinate all civil construction activities for STC projects, ensuring seamless execution from site preparation to final handover. This includes overseeing foundations, tower bases, shelters, handholes, manholes, duct banks, and trenching works in alignment with approved engineering drawings and specifications.
• Quality Assurance and Compliance: Conduct comprehensive site inspections and quality checks at every stage of construction to verify compliance with STC standards, project requirements, and industry best practices. Identify and address any deviations promptly to maintain the highest standards of workmanship.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as the primary liaison between STC representatives, consultants, contractors, and internal project teams. Facilitate clear communication, resolve conflicts, and ensure all parties are aligned with project objectives and timelines.
• Project Execution and Milestone Achievement: Monitor progress meticulously to ensure timely completion of assigned sites and adherence to project milestones. Address any delays or obstacles proactively to minimize disruptions and maintain project momentum.
• Financial and Resource Management: Review civil work quantities and validate completed work for accurate invoicing. Oversee material delivery and usage to optimize resource allocation and control project costs effectively.
• Issue Resolution and Problem-Solving: Identify potential site issues that may impact project progress and implement timely solutions to mitigate risks. Maintain a proactive approach to troubleshooting and decision-making to safeguard project integrity.
• Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports to provide stakeholders with transparent updates on site activities, challenges, and achievements. Maintain accurate records of all project documentation for audit and reference purposes.
• Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) Compliance: Uphold the highest standards of HSSE protocols to ensure a safe and sustainable work environment. Conduct regular safety audits, enforce compliance, and promote a culture of safety awareness among all site personnel.
• Site Acceptance and Handover: Support the site acceptance process by addressing all punch-list items and ensuring that projects meet STC’s acceptance criteria. Facilitate a smooth transition from construction to operational phases.
• Meeting Participation and Updates: Actively participate in project meetings, providing insightful updates on site progress, challenges, and strategic recommendations to drive project success.

Qualifications and Competencies

The successful candidate will possess a degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, along with a proven track record in managing civil construction projects within the telecommunications or infrastructure sector. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively under pressure and in dynamic environments. Proficiency in project management tools and a commitment to continuous improvement are highly desirable.
