Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

The Accounting Manager will play a critical role in maintaining the financial health of the organization by executing the following responsibilities:

• Financial Systems and Reporting: Develop, implement, and maintain robust systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information. Ensure that all financial reports are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with applicable accounting standards and regulations.
• Departmental Leadership: Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, providing guidance and support to the accounting team to ensure efficient and effective workflows. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
• Strategic Financial Contributions: Collaborate with senior management to contribute accounting insights and recommendations to strategic planning initiatives. Participate in reviews and discussions to align financial objectives with overall business goals.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process, including forecasting financial requirements, scheduling expenditures, and analyzing budget variances. Initiate corrective actions as needed to ensure financial objectives are met.
• Financial Monitoring and Analysis: Monitor revenue and expenses to confirm the organization’s financial status. Coordinate the collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data, and prepare special reports as required for executive review.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a financial advisor to other departments by interpreting accounting policies and applying observations to operational issues. Provide actionable recommendations to enhance financial performance and operational efficiency.
• Internal Controls and Compliance: Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the organization’s financial integrity. Develop and enforce a comprehensive chart of accounts, along with accounting policies and procedures, to ensure consistency and compliance.
• Confidentiality and Security: Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality by protecting sensitive financial information and ensuring adherence to data security protocols.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Proven expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and strategic financial planning.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop accounting professionals.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely to stakeholders at all levels.
