About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive System Administrator to oversee and optimize our organization’s IT infrastructure. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the seamless management, maintenance, and support of servers, operating systems, virtualization platforms, and enterprise applications. Key Responsibilities
As a System Administrator, your core duties will include:
- Server Management: Install, configure, and maintain both Windows and Linux servers to ensure optimal functionality and reliability.
- Identity and Access Management: Administer Active Directory, Group Policies, and user access controls to safeguard organizational resources and streamline user management.
- System Monitoring and Availability: Proactively monitor system performance to identify and resolve issues before they impact operations, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime.
- Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce system upgrades, security patches, and updates to mitigate vulnerabilities and maintain compliance with IT security policies and industry standards.
- Virtualization Administration: Manage and optimize virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V to maximize resource utilization and flexibility.
- Backup and Disaster Recovery: Design, implement, and maintain robust backup and disaster recovery solutions to protect critical data and ensure business continuity.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues efficiently, minimizing disruptions to business operations.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate system documentation, including infrastructure diagrams and operational procedures, to facilitate knowledge sharing and compliance audits.
- Vendor Coordination: Liaise with hardware and software vendors to procure necessary resources, resolve technical issues, and ensure timely support.
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and competencies:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience in system administration, with a proven track record in managing diverse IT environments.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Expertise in Windows Server administration and configuration.
- In-depth knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy management.
- Experience with virtualization technologies, including VMware and Hyper-V.
- Familiarity with backup and recovery solutions to ensure data integrity.
- Understanding of server hardware, storage systems, and network fundamentals.
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional troubleshooting abilities with a methodical approach to problem-solving.
