Are you an experienced Product Quality Engineer seeking a challenging role within one of the world’s most advanced integrated refining and petrochemical operations? We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled professional to ensure the highest standards of product quality, integrity, and compliance throughout our production processes. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with operations, process engineering, laboratory, and commercial teams to drive quality excellence, optimise processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives across our refinery.

Key Responsibilities

As a Product Quality Engineer, your core responsibilities will include:

• Quality Assurance & Control: Develop, implement, and maintain robust quality assurance and quality control procedures for refined and petrochemical products to ensure adherence to internal specifications and industry standards.
• Product Monitoring & Analysis: Continuously monitor and evaluate critical product quality parameters, including viscosity, density, flash point, distillation characteristics, chemical composition, and other essential properties through rigorous laboratory testing and sample analysis.
• Quality Incident Management: Investigate off-specification products and quality incidents by performing detailed root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions to mitigate future occurrences.
• Process Optimisation: Work in tandem with process engineers and production teams to optimise operating conditions, enhance product quality, and improve overall plant performance.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyse quality trends, prepare comprehensive technical reports, and effectively communicate findings to key stakeholders to support informed decision-making.
• Supplier & Customer Collaboration: Engage with suppliers to ensure incoming raw materials meet stringent quality requirements and support customers by addressing product quality concerns, resolving technical issues, and managing claims.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with relevant quality, environmental, and safety regulations, as well as industry best practices, to uphold operational integrity and sustainability.
• Training & Development: Deliver training and guidance to operations personnel on quality control procedures and continuous improvement initiatives to foster a culture of excellence.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to enhance product quality, improve operational efficiency, and reduce defects through targeted continuous improvement projects.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you must meet the following qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in product quality assurance within the refining or petrochemical industry.
• In-depth understanding of refined and petrochemical products, including their quality requirements and performance characteristics.
• Proven expertise in laboratory testing methodologies, analytical techniques, and quality control equipment.
• Strong knowledge of quality management systems and adherence to industry standards such as ISO, ASTM, and API.
• Familiarity with relevant refinery and petrochemical regulations, including environmental, health, and safety (EHS) compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated experience in conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions for quality-related issues.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and derive actionable insights.
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management abilities, with the capacity to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Six Sigma certification is considered a valuable asset for this role.
