Senior Project Director

Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Project Director to spearhead the execution of high-impact construction projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This pivotal role requires an industry veteran with a proven ability to deliver multi-billion SAR developments, including iconic high-rise towers, from initial concept to final handover. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in managing complex, large-scale projects under Tier 1 main contractors, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of safety, quality, cost efficiency, and schedule adherence.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Provide visionary direction for the planning, execution, and successful delivery of large-scale construction projects, aligning all project activities with organizational goals and stakeholder expectations.
• Team Leadership & Collaboration: Lead and mentor multidisciplinary project teams, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement to drive project success.
• Project Lifecycle Oversight: Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle, including design coordination, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover, ensuring seamless transition and adherence to contractual obligations.
• Stakeholder & Client Management: Serve as the primary liaison between the organization, clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and government authorities, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring alignment on project objectives.
• Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure full compliance with local regulations, international construction standards, and project specifications, while proactively identifying risks and implementing corrective actions to mitigate potential disruptions.
• Project Controls & Commercial Excellence: Lead project controls, including budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and change management, while driving commercial performance through effective contract administration, claims management, and dispute resolution.
• Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor project performance against milestones, KPIs, and deliverables, implementing corrective measures as necessary to ensure timely and within-budget completion.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 20 years of progressive project management experience, with a mandatory background in Tier 1 main contracting firms.
• Project Delivery: Proven track record in leading the successful delivery of multi-billion SAR construction projects, including high-rise towers and other large-scale building developments.
• Technical Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in project management, construction management, contract administration, commercial management, project controls, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
• Leadership & Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision-making abilities, with a strong aptitude for fostering collaboration and driving team performance.
• Regulatory & Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of local regulations, international construction standards, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture (mandatory). A Master’s degree or PMP certification is highly advantageous.
