Openshift/Kubernetes Engineer – Platform Administrator (Government Sector)
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Openshift/Kubernetes Engineer to join a prestigious government entity in Saudi Arabia. This role is a full-time, one-year contract position, with an immediate start date. The successful candidate must be currently based in Saudi Arabia and possess a valid work visa (iqama). This is a critical systems administration role focused on maintaining and optimizing the DataRobot platform, which operates on OpenShift/Kubernetes infrastructure. The platform supports a diverse range of workloads, including traditional machine learning, agentic AI, and optimization tasks. This position is strictly administrative and does not involve data science, MLOps modeling, or development responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
The Openshift/Kubernetes Engineer will be responsible for the following core functions:
- Platform Administration: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the DataRobot platform, ensuring seamless functionality, performance, and reliability.
- Infrastructure Management: Administer and maintain the underlying OpenShift/Kubernetes container infrastructure, including cluster health, resource allocation, and scalability.
- Systems Administration: Provide robust Linux/Red Hat systems administration support, including server maintenance, troubleshooting, and security patching.
- Access and Configuration Management: Manage user access, authentication, and authorization, as well as platform configurations to align with operational and security requirements.
- Reliability and Performance: Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to enhance platform stability and efficiency.
- Collaboration and Support: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business objectives and technical standards, providing expert-level support for platform-related inquiries.
Required Qualifications
To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following essential criteria:
- Systems Administration Experience: Minimum of two years of hands-on experience in Linux/Red Hat systems administration.
- Containerization Expertise: Proven working knowledge of OpenShift or Kubernetes, along with Docker and containerization technologies.
- Independent Work Capability: Ability to operate autonomously in a high-pressure production environment, demonstrating strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in Arabic, with an understanding of regional accents such as Moroccan or Lebanese. Native Gulf Arabic is not mandatory.
- Local Presence: Must be currently based in Saudi Arabia with a valid work visa (iqama) in place.
Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following qualifications will be considered advantageous:
- Platform Experience: Prior experience with DataRobot or similar MLOps platforms.
- MLOps Exposure: General familiarity with MLOps principles and practices, including model deployment and lifecycle management.
