Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Electrical Technician to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our instrumentation and electrical control systems to ensure seamless production operations. Your expertise will be pivotal in minimizing downtime, enhancing equipment reliability, and supporting strategic initiatives to improve overall operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities

The Electrical Technician will play a multifaceted role, encompassing the following core responsibilities:

• Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
  • Enforce rigorous health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols during all maintenance activities to ensure a secure workplace.
  • Ensure full compliance with legal and regulatory standards in maintenance practices, contractor oversight, and documentation.
  • Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, or compliance gaps.
• Preventive and Predictive Maintenance:
  • Develop and execute monthly preventive maintenance (PM) schedules for instrumentation to uphold reliability and accuracy.
  • Implement predictive maintenance techniques, including vibration analysis and thermography, to proactively identify potential failures.
  • Minimize downtime by ensuring PM activities are completed efficiently and effectively.
• Corrective Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
  • Diagnose and resolve critical electrical issues or equipment breakdowns in a timely manner to restore production continuity.
  • Utilize advanced test equipment and hand tools to pinpoint the root cause of malfunctions and implement corrective measures.
  • Focus on reducing the six big losses and top five downtime contributors to enhance Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through improved availability and performance.
• Strategic and Long-Term Projects:
  • Provide technical electrical support to the maintenance department for project assignments and initiatives.
  • Lead or contribute to projects aimed at modernizing machine control systems to reduce downtime and improve operational efficiency.
  • Recommend and implement modifications to equipment to enhance capacity, quality, and safety standards.
• Utilities and Calibration Management:
  • Develop and maintain an annual calibration plan for plant instruments, ensuring adherence to QA standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee record-keeping and audit processes related to calibration and maintenance activities.
• People Management and Training:
  • Train production team members on the proper operation and maintenance of blending and filling equipment to foster a culture of operational excellence.
• Sustainability Initiatives:
  • Drive sustainable maintenance practices by optimizing energy consumption, reducing emissions from assets, and contributing to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) compliance reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance, instrumentation, or a closely related discipline within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical systems, using diagnostic tools, and interpreting technical schematics. Familiarity with calibration procedures and predictive maintenance techniques is highly desirable.
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to work under pressure. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and train personnel.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in electrical safety, instrumentation, or maintenance management are a plus.
