Structural Engineer – Join Parsons in Riyadh

Key Responsibilities
In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for a wide range of structural engineering tasks, including but not limited to:
- Design and Analysis: Develop detailed structural designs for buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure using advanced software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and ETABS. Conduct structural analysis to ensure compliance with international codes and local regulations, including Saudi Building Code (SBC) and other applicable standards.
- Project Collaboration: Work closely with architects, contractors, and other engineers to integrate structural solutions seamlessly into overall project plans. Participate in design reviews, coordination meetings, and site inspections to ensure alignment with project objectives and timelines.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare comprehensive technical reports, calculations, and drawings to support project submissions, approvals, and construction phases. Ensure all documentation adheres to industry best practices and company quality standards.
- Innovation and Sustainability: Explore and implement cutting-edge structural solutions that enhance sustainability and resilience. Assess the environmental impact of designs and recommend materials and methods that align with green building principles and circular economy goals.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all structural designs and construction activities comply with local and international safety regulations. Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to minimize hazards during the construction and operational phases.
- Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a technical liaison with clients, government agencies, and regulatory bodies to address inquiries, provide updates, and facilitate approvals. Demonstrate strong communication skills to convey complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and competencies:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PE, CEng) is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in structural engineering, with a proven track record in designing and delivering complex projects. Experience in the Middle East, particularly Saudi Arabia, is highly desirable.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in structural engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, ETABS, SAP2000, and STAAD.Pro. Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) workflows and digital engineering tools is advantageous.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of international structural codes (e.g., ACI, AISC, Eurocodes) and local regulations, including the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and municipal requirements.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
- Certifications: Active membership in professional organizations such as the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) or the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) is beneficial.
