Control System Engineer - Project & Control System Upgrade Experience

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Control System Engineer to join our dynamic team in Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in project management and control system upgrades, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance of industrial automation systems. Key Responsibilities

• Project Leadership: Lead and oversee control system upgrade projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks. Coordinate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
• System Design & Implementation: Develop, configure, and implement advanced control systems, including PLC, SCADA, DCS, and HMI solutions. Ensure systems are designed for scalability, reliability, and compliance with industry best practices.
• Technical Expertise: Provide specialized knowledge in control system architecture, automation protocols, and integration methodologies. Troubleshoot complex system issues and propose data-driven solutions to enhance performance.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all control systems and upgrades comply with local and international safety, environmental, and operational regulations. Conduct thorough risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
• Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with engineers, technicians, and project managers to align control system upgrades with broader organizational goals. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of system configurations, modifications, and upgrades. Prepare detailed technical reports, user manuals, and compliance documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
• Training & Support: Provide training and guidance to end-users and technical staff on new control systems and upgrades. Offer ongoing support to ensure smooth operation and minimal downtime.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Control Systems, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., PE, CEng) are advantageous.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in control system engineering, with a focus on project execution and system upgrades. Proven track record in industrial automation environments is essential.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider), SCADA systems, DCS platforms, and HMI development. Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP) is required.
• Project Management: Strong project management skills, including proficiency in tools such as MS Project, Primavera, or similar. Experience with Agile or Waterfall methodologies is a plus.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Language: Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in Arabic is a valuable asset.
