Electrical Project Manager - Substations

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Project Manager – Substations to join our dynamic team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of electrical substation projects, ensuring adherence to technical specifications, safety standards, and project timelines. Key Responsibilities

• Project Planning and Coordination: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation, while coordinating with cross-functional teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless execution.
• Technical Oversight: Provide technical leadership in the design, construction, testing, and commissioning of electrical substations, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client specifications.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize delays, cost overruns, or safety incidents, while maintaining a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, regulatory bodies, and internal teams, fostering strong relationships through clear communication, transparency, and accountability.
• Budget and Schedule Adherence: Monitor project expenditures, resource utilization, and progress against milestones, ensuring deliverables are completed within budget and on time.
• Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous quality control measures to ensure all project components meet or exceed industry standards, safety protocols, and client expectations.
• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with a strong foundation in power systems and substation design.
• A minimum of 8+ years of experience in electrical project management, with a proven track record in substation projects.
• Professional certification such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent is highly desirable.
• In-depth knowledge of IEEE, IEC, and local regulatory standards governing substation design, construction, and operation.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams and stakeholders effectively.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP).
• Familiarity with Saudi Arabia’s energy sector and local market dynamics is a plus.
