Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate Vendor Manager, Retail Vendor Recruitment (Saudi National) to join our dynamic team at Afaq Q Tech General Trading - G11, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will play a critical part in sourcing, evaluating, and onboarding high-quality retail vendors to strengthen our supply chain and enhance our market presence. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the Saudi retail landscape, exceptional negotiation skills, and a proven track record in vendor management.

Key Responsibilities

• Vendor Sourcing and Recruitment: Identify and engage potential retail vendors that align with our business objectives, ensuring a diverse and competitive supplier base. Conduct thorough market research to assess vendor capabilities, financial stability, and compliance with local regulations.
• Vendor Evaluation and Selection: Develop and implement a robust vendor evaluation framework to assess quality, pricing, delivery timelines, and service levels. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, logistics, and finance, to make informed vendor selection decisions.
• Contract Negotiation and Management: Lead negotiations with prospective vendors to secure favorable terms, including pricing, payment conditions, and service-level agreements. Draft, review, and manage vendor contracts to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
• Performance Monitoring and Relationship Management: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor vendor performance, including delivery accuracy, product quality, and customer satisfaction. Maintain strong relationships with vendors to foster long-term partnerships and address any performance issues proactively.
• Market Intelligence and Trend Analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory changes in the Saudi retail sector. Provide actionable insights to senior management to inform strategic decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
• Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all vendor recruitment processes adhere to company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards. Conduct due diligence to mitigate risks associated with vendor partnerships, including financial, operational, and reputational risks.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CSCP) is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in vendor management, procurement, or supply chain, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role. Prior experience in the retail sector is highly desirable.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in vendor management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint). Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in Arabic and English is mandatory. Additional languages are a plus.
• Local Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Saudi retail market, including consumer preferences, regulatory frameworks, and cultural nuances.
