Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Security Manager to join The Chedi Hegra, an iconic luxury destination steeped in heritage and excellence. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for safeguarding our guests, staff, and property while fostering a culture of proactive risk management and operational excellence. As a key member of our onsite team, you will collaborate closely with leadership and department heads to implement robust security policies, lead a team of security professionals, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in security management, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to remain composed under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

• Policy Development & Implementation: Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive security policies and procedures tailored to the unique needs of a luxury hospitality environment. Ensure these protocols are consistently enforced and updated in alignment with industry best practices.
• Team Leadership & Supervision: Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of security personnel, fostering a culture of vigilance, professionalism, and adherence to high standards. Conduct regular training sessions to enhance their skills in risk assessment, emergency response, and customer service.
• Surveillance & Equipment Oversight: Oversee the operation of advanced surveillance systems and security equipment, ensuring all technology is fully functional, well-maintained, and capable of addressing potential threats effectively.
• Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Monitor and evaluate potential risks, conducting thorough analyses to identify vulnerabilities. Develop and recommend practical solutions to mitigate threats, ensuring the safety of all stakeholders and property assets.
• Emergency Response & Coordination: Serve as a liaison with local authorities, emergency services, and relevant stakeholders to coordinate responses during critical incidents. Maintain a robust incident-reporting system and lead investigations to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
• Safety & Compliance: Organize and oversee regular safety drills, including fire evacuation and crisis response exercises, to ensure preparedness. Uphold compliance with all legal, statutory, and health and safety regulations, including those specific to UNESCO Heritage sites.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, you must possess the following core competencies:

• Professional Experience: Proven track record in security management, with a preference for candidates with experience in the luxury hospitality sector. Familiarity with high-profile environments and guest-centric operations is highly desirable.
• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of security protocols, emergency response strategies, and crisis management frameworks. Experience with modern security technologies and systems is a valuable asset.
• Leadership & Communication: Exceptional leadership abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to manage and motivate teams under dynamic conditions. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for fostering collaboration and resolving conflicts.
• Crisis Management: Ability to remain calm, composed, and decisive during emergencies, ensuring clear decision-making and effective communication.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory. Additional proficiency in Arabic is a plus.

While the above qualifications are essential, candidates with the following attributes will be given preference:

• Prior experience working in the Middle East or within UNESCO Heritage sites.
• Professional certifications in security management, such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP).
• Certifications in First Aid or firefighting.
