Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Engineering Manager to lead our Engineering function in Riyadh. This pivotal leadership role is responsible for overseeing high-performing engineering teams, delivering safe, practical, and cost-effective formwork solutions, and supporting complex projects across Saudi Arabia. Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering, the Engineering Manager will drive technical excellence, innovation, and knowledge sharing while collaborating closely with Sales, Project Managers, and on-site teams. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise in formwork engineering with exceptional people leadership, commercial acumen, and the ability to manage multiple high-stakes projects in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and motivate engineering teams across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
• Technical Excellence: Develop and implement economical, practical, and safe formwork solutions that meet both team and organizational goals while adhering to industry standards and best practices.
• Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering solutions for complex construction projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective outcomes.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Project Managers, and site teams to align engineering solutions with customer needs, project timelines, and commercial objectives.
• Innovation and Knowledge Sharing: Champion continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for innovation, optimizing processes, and disseminating technical knowledge across the organization.
• Safety and Compliance: Ensure all engineering activities comply with local regulations, safety protocols, and Doka’s global standards to mitigate risks and uphold operational integrity.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the engineering function in client meetings, presentations, and negotiations, demonstrating technical expertise and building strong customer relationships.
• Talent Development: Mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering a high-performance culture and identifying opportunities for professional growth within the team.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PE) are advantageous.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in formwork engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing engineering teams in the construction industry.
• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of formwork systems, structural analysis, and construction methodologies, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects.
• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, drive performance, and foster a culture of accountability and innovation.
• Commercial Awareness: Strong understanding of project economics, cost control, and value engineering to deliver solutions that balance quality and affordability.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with proficiency in Arabic considered a significant advantage. Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Cultural Adaptability: Experience working in multicultural environments, with a keen understanding of Middle Eastern business practices and construction dynamics.
• Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot technical challenges and propose practical, scalable solutions.
