Role Overview

As a key member of the PC Group Manufacturing Engineering (PCG ME) team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and enhancing Lenovo’s PC manufacturing operations. This position is designed for professionals who are passionate about process development, production optimization, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Your contributions will directly impact product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and the successful introduction of new products to the market. By collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will ensure that Lenovo’s manufacturing processes are not only efficient but also aligned with the company’s commitment to delivering exceptional technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Process Development: Lead the design, implementation, and refinement of manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall operational efficiency. Identify opportunities for automation and innovation to streamline production workflows.
• Production Optimization: Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement. Develop and execute strategies to optimize manufacturing output while maintaining the highest standards of quality and reliability.
• Continuous Improvement: Champion a culture of continuous improvement by implementing Lean, Six Sigma, or other best practices to drive operational excellence. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and lead initiatives to achieve and exceed targets.
• New Product Introduction (NPI): Collaborate with product development and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of new products into manufacturing lines. Provide technical expertise to resolve production challenges and accelerate time-to-market.
• Quality Assurance: Work closely with quality control teams to establish and maintain rigorous quality standards. Conduct root cause analysis for defects and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence, ensuring that Lenovo’s products meet or exceed customer expectations.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with supply chain, logistics, and other departments to align manufacturing processes with broader business objectives. Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive cohesive and efficient operations.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure adherence to industry regulations, safety protocols, and Lenovo’s corporate policies. Promote a safe and compliant work environment by identifying risks and implementing preventive measures.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates should possess a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a passion for manufacturing excellence. The ideal candidate will have:

• A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Project Management are a plus.
• Proven experience in manufacturing engineering, process improvement, or a related field, with a track record of driving operational efficiencies and quality enhancements.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and methodologies to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a systematic approach to diagnosing issues and implementing effective solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
• Familiarity with manufacturing software, ERP systems, and industry-specific tools to support process development and optimization.
