Your Responsibilities

As a Junior Prompt Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in transforming the abstract capabilities of generative AI into practical solutions tailored to the logistics sector. Your primary focus will be on designing, refining, and testing precise instructions that enable language models to accurately process critical documents such as shipping manifests, customs data, and internal routing notes. This is a fully remote position that demands a pragmatic and detail-oriented approach to technical problem-solving. Rather than crafting high-level strategic frameworks, you will delve into the specifics—diagnosing why a prompt failed to categorize a shipment correctly and implementing adjustments to prevent recurrence.

Key Tasks and Deliverables

• Prompt Development and Testing: Create and refine text-based instructions that guide language models in handling various logistics documentation with precision.
• Output Validation: Compare AI-generated outputs against verified source data in the client’s database to ensure alignment with operational truth.
• Error Analysis: Examine system logs to identify instances where AI misinterprets instructions, enabling targeted improvements.
• Documentation and Rule Mapping: Record routing rules and edge cases encountered during prompt testing to build a comprehensive knowledge base.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside technical teams to refine system-level instructions based on real-time feedback from operational staff.
• Data Reconciliation: Assist in resolving discrepancies when AI outputs deviate from expected operational results, ensuring data integrity.
• Prompt Library Management: Maintain a repository of validated prompt templates that the client team can leverage independently post-engagement.
• Performance Reporting: Provide regular written updates on the efficacy of different instruction sets across diverse document types, highlighting success rates and areas for improvement.

Your Qualifications

We are seeking a candidate with a clear and logical writing style, capable of distilling complex manual processes into concise, repeatable instructions. Ideal candidates will possess a foundational understanding of generative AI tools and their responsiveness to varied input styles. A meticulous eye for detail is essential, particularly in identifying subtle inconsistencies within extensive text or data sets. Proficiency in navigating technical logs and structured data formats, such as JSON or CSV, is highly valued. The ability to work autonomously in a fully remote setting while maintaining rigorous documentation standards is critical. Additionally, you should demonstrate a systematic approach to testing, conducting repetitive trials to uncover system vulnerabilities.

Preferred Background

While not mandatory, prior experience in roles involving the creation or adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) is advantageous. Familiarity with logistics, supply chain, or warehouse management systems will provide valuable context. Exposure to data entry or reconciliation tasks where accuracy is paramount is also beneficial.
