Position Overview

International Maritime Industries (IMI) is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Coordinator I, Permit to Work Mechanical Isolator to join our dynamic team in Saudi Arabia. Key Responsibilities

• Permit-to-Work Management: Oversee the issuance, tracking, and closure of mechanical isolation permits in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Ensure all permits are accurately documented, reviewed, and approved by authorized personnel.
• Mechanical Isolation Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and maintenance, to plan and execute mechanical isolations. Verify that isolation points are correctly identified, tagged, and secured to prevent unauthorized access or energy release.
• Safety Compliance: Monitor and enforce adherence to safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, confined space entry, and hot work permits. Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and mitigate risks.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive records of all permit-to-work activities, including isolation certificates, risk assessments, and incident reports. Generate and submit timely reports to management to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Training and Awareness: Provide guidance and training to personnel on permit-to-work systems, mechanical isolation procedures, and safety best practices. Foster a culture of accountability and proactive risk management within the organization.
• Emergency Response Support: Assist in emergency response planning and execution, particularly in scenarios involving mechanical isolations or energy control. Serve as a point of contact for escalation and coordination during critical incidents.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Safety Management, or a related field. Alternatively, a combination of relevant experience and vocational training may be considered.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in permit-to-work coordination, mechanical isolation, or a closely related field within the maritime, oil and gas, or industrial sectors. Familiarity with industry-specific safety standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO, or API) is highly desirable.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of mechanical isolation techniques, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and permit-to-work systems. Proficiency in using digital permit-to-work software and other relevant tools is a plus.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritize tasks, and collaborate with diverse teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Certifications: Valid certifications in safety management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) or mechanical isolation are advantageous. First Aid and CPR certifications may also be required.

Work Environment

This role is based at International Maritime Industries’ facilities in Saudi Arabia, where you will work in a dynamic and collaborative environment. The position may require occasional travel to project sites or satellite offices. You will be expected to adhere to strict safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. The role may involve shift work, including evenings, weekends, or holidays, depending on operational demands.
