Agricultural Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Agricultural Engineer to lead and manage our landscaping projects from initial planning through to final execution. In this pivotal role, you will oversee landscape maintenance, irrigation systems, and preventive maintenance activities while ensuring all work adheres to project specifications and environmental standards. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of horticulture, soil science, and sustainable landscaping practices, combined with exceptional leadership and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Leadership and Management: Lead and manage end-to-end landscaping projects, ensuring timely and budget-conscious execution while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Landscape Maintenance Oversight: Supervise landscape maintenance activities, irrigation system operations, and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity of outdoor spaces.
• Design and Planning: Develop and prepare detailed landscape designs that align with environmental, technical, and budgetary requirements, ensuring sustainability and aesthetic appeal.
• Site Inspections and Compliance: Conduct thorough site inspections to verify that all work complies with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Irrigation System Management: Design, implement, and manage efficient irrigation systems to optimize water consumption and promote sustainable water use practices.
• Plant Health and Maintenance Programs: Monitor plant health, implement pest control measures, oversee fertilization programs, and coordinate seasonal maintenance activities to ensure vibrant and healthy landscapes.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate closely with clients, contractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure seamless project execution and address any concerns or requirements.
• Technical Guidance and Leadership: Provide expert technical guidance to supervisors and field teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Sustainability Initiatives: Champion sustainable landscaping practices, including the use of native plants, water-efficient systems, and eco-friendly materials to minimize environmental impact.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of five years of hands-on experience in landscaping, with a proven track record in project management and execution.
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of irrigation systems, horticulture, soil science, fertilizers, and pest management techniques.
• Construction and Maintenance Expertise: Demonstrated experience in landscape construction and maintenance, including the ability to interpret drawings and technical documents.
• Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with CAD and GIS software is highly advantageous for design and planning purposes.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities to effectively manage teams and stakeholders.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work on-site and travel as required to oversee projects and ensure their successful completion.
