Fire Protection Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Fire Protection Engineer to design, implement, and maintain advanced fire protection systems while ensuring full compliance with the Saudi Building Code (SBC), Civil Defense regulations, and NFPA standards. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of fire protection systems—from initial design and technical review to implementation and ongoing maintenance. Your expertise will be critical in safeguarding lives, property, and infrastructure by delivering robust and regulatory-compliant fire safety solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• System Design and Optimization: Develop, review, and optimize fire protection systems, including sprinkler systems, fire alarms, smoke control systems, and emergency lighting, to meet the highest safety and performance standards.
• Technical Documentation Review: Scrutinize and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with project requirements.
• Regulatory Compliance and Coordination:
  • Collaborate closely with local authorities, Civil Defense, and regulatory bodies to secure necessary approvals and ensure adherence to SBC, NFPA, and other applicable standards.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the engineering team, contractors, and stakeholders to facilitate seamless project execution and compliance verification.
• Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential fire hazards and recommend proactive measures to mitigate risks in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
• Project Oversight: Monitor the installation and maintenance of fire protection systems to ensure they are executed in accordance with approved designs and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Skills

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience in the fire protection industry, with a proven track record in designing and implementing compliant systems.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of the Saudi Building Code (SBC), Civil Defense regulations, and NFPA standards (e.g., NFPA 13, NFPA 72, NFPA 101).
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional ability to analyze complex technical challenges and develop innovative, cost-effective solutions that prioritize safety and compliance.
• Communication and Collaboration: Strong interpersonal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical information to diverse stakeholders, including engineers, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to reviewing designs, documents, and installations to ensure precision and adherence to stringent safety protocols.
