Technical Translator

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Translator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for translating technical documents between English and Arabic, ensuring linguistic accuracy, consistency, and cultural appropriateness. This role requires a deep understanding of technical terminology, exceptional writing skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will also maintain a comprehensive database of technical terms to uphold standardization across all translated materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Translation and Localization: Translate technical documents, manuals, specifications, and other materials from English to Arabic and vice versa with precision and clarity. Ensure that translations are culturally adapted and linguistically accurate for the target audience.
• Terminology Management: Develop, update, and maintain a centralized database of technical terms to ensure consistency and standardization across all translated content. Collaborate with subject matter experts to verify and refine terminology as needed.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews and proofreading of translated materials to ensure adherence to quality standards, including grammar, syntax, formatting, and overall readability. Verify that translations align with the original intent and technical accuracy.
• Collaboration and Support: Work closely with various departments, including engineering, product development, and customer support, to provide accurate translations and address any linguistic or technical queries. Serve as a linguistic resource to ensure seamless communication across teams.
• Localization Expertise: As a local citizen, leverage your understanding of regional dialects and cultural nuances to enhance the localization of technical content, ensuring it resonates with the target audience.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Translation, English, Linguistics, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in translation are a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of five years of professional experience in technical translation, preferably in a corporate or technical environment. A proven track record in translating complex technical documents is essential.
• Language Proficiency: Fluent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Arabic. Native or near-native proficiency in Arabic is highly preferred.
• Technical Acumen: Strong grasp of technical terminology and the ability to accurately translate specialized content across various industries, such as engineering, IT, healthcare, or manufacturing.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with translation memory tools (e.g., Trados, MemoQ) are advantageous.
• Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
