Position Overview

As the Manager, Transportation Finance, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of Freight and Tariffs cost planning, variance analysis, budgeting, and inventory valuation. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive cost efficiency and operational excellence, contributing directly to Lucid’s strategic financial objectives. This role requires a strategic mindset, analytical rigor, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights that support decision-making and cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Transportation Finance:
  • Prepare and maintain accurate Inventory, Freight, and Duty costs for both inbound and outbound logistics.
  • Coordinate with logistics and procurement teams to ensure Door-to-Door (D2D) freight costs are optimized and accurately reflected in financial records.
  • Analyze cost deviations and provide actionable recommendations to address variances and improve efficiency.
• Budgeting & Forecasting:
  • Assist in the preparation of long-term plans, annual budgets, and rolling forecasts in collaboration with logistics and supply chain teams.
  • Monitor adherence to budgeted costs and proactively flag potential overruns through key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Cost Variance Analysis:
  • Track and report variances in Inventory, inbound, outbound freight, and tariffs to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis for significant cost variances and develop corrective action plans.
  • Support monthly plant performance reporting by providing cost-related KPIs and insights.
• New Product Costing Support:
  • Collaborate with New Product Development (NPD) and Logistics teams to provide accurate landed cost estimates for new vehicle launches.
  • Assist in preparing business cases and tracking cost evolution throughout the design and development phases.
  • Validate cost targets against internal benchmarks and market trends to ensure competitiveness.
• Cost Reporting & MIS:
  • Develop and maintain regular freight and tariff reports, including dynamic dashboards for executive review.
  • Present cost trend analysis, savings initiatives, and localization benefits to stakeholders.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to the logistics team’s operational and financial performance.
• Data Integrity & ERP Costing Module:
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of costing data within the ERP system, particularly the SAP CO module.
  • Assist in configuring networks and routings for new products to ensure seamless financial tracking.
  • Perform periodic audits of cost master data to verify completeness, accuracy, and compliance with financial standards.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, you will bring a minimum of 10–15 years of experience in product costing or plant finance within a manufacturing environment, with a preference for candidates with automotive or electric vehicle (EV) industry experience. Proficiency in ERP systems, particularly SAP, and advanced Excel-based analysis is essential. A professional qualification such as CA (Chartered Accountant), CMA (Certified Management Accountant), or an MBA in Finance is required.

We are seeking a candidate with a strong understanding of inventory principles, inbound and outbound logistics cost drivers, and the ability to interpret complex data to drive strategic decisions. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and possess excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Strong execution capabilities, the ability to meet tight deadlines, and a focus on prioritizing multiple tasks are critical for success in this role.
