Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Subcontract Administrator to join our dynamic team for the Ar Rjum Project, a groundbreaking greenfield gold mining initiative located in the Central Arabian Gold Region, approximately 200 km northeast of Taif and 26 km south of Al Mouwayh. This prestigious project encompasses three open-pit mining operations, a state-of-the-art processing plant, tailings management facilities, and essential supporting infrastructure, including water and power supply systems, maintenance facilities, and accommodation villages. As a key member of our global organization, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of this transformative project by managing subcontracting activities with precision, efficiency, and unwavering commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities
The Subcontract Administrator will report directly to the Projects Contracts Manager and collaborate closely with Contract Administrators overseeing civil, mechanical, and electrical/instrumentation packages. This role requires seamless coordination with field engineering and project controls teams to deliver optimal outcomes. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Pre-Contract Duties:
- Developing comprehensive and accurate Bills of Quantities (BoQs) to standardize bidding processes for contractors.
- Conducting financial evaluations to identify and recommend the most suitable contractors for project execution.
- Assisting in negotiations to finalize terms, conditions, and pricing with the selected bidder, ensuring alignment with client interests and project objectives.
- Post-Contract Duties:
- Evaluating and verifying the value of work completed on-site to facilitate accurate monthly progress payments.
- Managing variation orders by pricing and assessing their financial impact, including changes, additions, or omissions to the original project scope.
- Evaluating financial claims submitted by contractors to ensure fairness and compliance with contractual agreements.
- Project Close-Out:
- Reconciling all project costs, variations, and claims to finalize financial settlements with clients or contractors, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
Qualifications and Experience
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following educational and professional requirements:
- Education: A bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) in a relevant field such as Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Administration. Alternatively, a minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in subcontract administration, or 12-14 years of progressive work experience in a related discipline.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Demonstrated expertise in estimating quantities, costs, and time scales for materials and labor.
- Proven ability to prepare tender and contract documents with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of commercial risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
- Experience in valuing completed work, managing budgets, and overseeing payments to ensure financial accountability.
- In-depth knowledge of rules of measurement specific to the industrial/petrochemical sector, particularly for civil, mechanical, and electrical/instrumentation works.
- Language and Communication Skills: Fluency in written and spoken English is essential, with native or near-native proficiency required. Fluency in Arabic, while not mandatory, is highly advantageous and will be considered a significant asset.
