Educational Technology Specialist

Position Overview

Al-Andalus Foundation is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Educational Technology Specialist (EdTech Specialist) to lead the development, implementation, and optimization of digital education systems and educational technologies across the Foundation and its affiliated branches. In this pivotal role, you will empower educators and users by enhancing their proficiency in digital platforms and tools, thereby transforming the educational experience. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving digital transformation initiatives, integrating cutting-edge technologies, and ensuring the seamless adoption of innovative solutions to elevate teaching and learning outcomes.

Core Responsibilities

• Platform Management: Oversee the administration, monitoring, and maintenance of e-learning platforms, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and other educational technologies to ensure optimal performance and accessibility.
• User Support & Training: Provide comprehensive support to teachers, staff, and users in utilizing digital educational platforms and tools. Develop and deliver training sessions, prepare detailed manuals, and create instructional materials to facilitate effective technology adoption.
• Technology Evaluation: Assess new educational tools, platforms, and technologies, providing data-driven recommendations to enhance digital learning environments. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging innovations to recommend scalable solutions.
• Content Development: Collaborate with educators to support the creation of high-quality digital educational content and interactive learning activities that align with pedagogical best practices.
• System Integration: Ensure seamless integration of educational systems and platforms with existing institutional infrastructure, including data synchronization and interoperability with other software solutions.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze usage data from learning platforms to generate insightful reports and interactive dashboards. Utilize analytics to identify trends, measure engagement, and recommend improvements to enhance the effectiveness of digital learning initiatives.
• Digital Transformation & AI Integration: Lead and contribute to digital transformation projects, including the strategic implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) tools to personalize learning experiences, automate administrative tasks, and improve educational outcomes.
• Vendor & Project Coordination: Act as a liaison between the Foundation and external service providers, educational platform vendors, and technology partners. Monitor project implementations, updates, and service-level agreements to ensure timely delivery and compliance with organizational standards.
• Quality Assurance: Establish and monitor quality benchmarks for the use of educational technologies across all branches. Conduct regular audits to assess effectiveness, user satisfaction, and alignment with educational objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, you will possess the following qualifications and professional attributes:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Digital Education, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field.
• Professional Experience: A minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience in educational technology, e-learning, or digital learning platforms, with a proven track record in managing or operating LMS systems.
• Training & Empowerment: Demonstrated experience in training and empowering educators and users to effectively leverage educational technologies, fostering a culture of digital literacy and innovation.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of digital education tools, blended learning methodologies, and virtual classroom environments. Familiarity with data analysis techniques to interpret platform usage metrics and generate actionable insights.
• Language Skills: Fluency in both Arabic and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will bring additional value through the following experiences and certifications:

• Platform Expertise: Hands-on experience with leading educational platforms such as Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard, Microsoft Teams for Education, or equivalent systems.
• Instructional Design: Background in Instructional Design principles and the development of engaging, pedagogically sound digital educational content.
• Learning Analytics & AI: Experience with Learning Analytics tools and applications of artificial intelligence in education, including adaptive learning systems and automated content generation.
• Multi-Campus Experience: Prior experience working in multi-campus or large-scale educational institutions, with a deep understanding of scalable technology solutions.
• Professional Certifications: Relevant certifications in educational technology, e-learning, or instructional design, such as Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP), Certified LMS Administrator, or similar credentials.
