About the Role

The VAT, Tax, Zakat & Treasury Accountant plays a pivotal role in ensuring VAT, WHT, Zakat, Corporate Tax, and Customs compliance for Reckitt in Saudi Arabia. This position is instrumental in overseeing treasury support activities and managing distributor statement of account reconciliations, all while maintaining robust financial controls and optimizing cash flow efficiency. Compliance with Saudization directives as stipulated by labor authorities is a key requirement for this role.

Your Key Responsibilities

• VAT Compliance: Prepare and submit VAT returns in strict accordance with ZATCA requirements, ensuring full compliance with Saudi tax regulations.
• Tax Treatment Review: Analyze and validate the VAT treatment of sales, purchases, imports, and intercompany transactions to mitigate risks and ensure accuracy.
• Withholding Tax (WHT): Prepare WHT calculations, filings, and reconciliations to maintain compliance with local tax laws.
• Zakat and Corporate Tax Support: Assist in the preparation of annual Zakat and Corporate Income Tax filings, as well as support tax audits to ensure transparency and adherence to regulations.
• Tax Account Reconciliations: Manage tax account reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules to ensure financial integrity.
• Customs Duties Management: Review customs duties, import VAT, and related accounting entries to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with external tax advisors, auditors, and ZATCA authorities to facilitate smooth compliance processes and resolve any queries or issues.
• Treasury Operations: Provide support for treasury functions, including cash management, payments, bank reconciliations, and cash forecasting to optimize liquidity and financial stability.
• Distributor Account Management: Monitor distributor statements of account, perform reconciliations, and resolve discrepancies to maintain strong financial relationships and ensure accuracy.
• Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with Reckitt’s internal controls and finance policies to uphold the highest standards of financial governance.

The Experience We Seek

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in VAT, Tax, Zakat, or Financial Accounting, with a strong understanding of Saudi tax regulations and ZATCA requirements.
• Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems is considered a valuable asset.
