Key Responsibilities

The Senior Accounting Officer will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting while supporting the company’s growth objectives. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Financial Oversight and Reporting: Lead the preparation and consolidation of financial statements in accordance with international accounting standards (IFRS), ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes to deliver accurate and reliable financial data to stakeholders.
• Strategic Financial Analysis: Partner with senior leadership to develop and implement financial strategies that optimize performance across all business units. Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing actionable insights to drive informed decision-making.
• Process Improvement and Controls: Evaluate and enhance accounting processes, systems, and internal controls to improve efficiency, reduce redundancies, and mitigate financial risks. Implement best practices to ensure robust governance and adherence to audit standards.
• Team Leadership and Development: Mentor and lead a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Provide guidance on professional development to ensure the team remains aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a trusted advisor to cross-functional teams, including operations, supply chain, and executive leadership. Collaborate closely with internal and external auditors to facilitate seamless audits and address any findings proactively.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of evolving accounting regulations, tax laws, and industry standards to ensure the organization remains compliant. Liaise with regulatory bodies and tax authorities as required to address inquiries and maintain strong relationships.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you will bring a combination of advanced technical skills, leadership experience, and a results-driven mindset. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a large organization or multinational corporation. Prior experience in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) or food and beverage industry is a strong advantage.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of IFRS, local tax regulations, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling and reporting tools.
• Leadership and Soft Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, communicate complex financial concepts clearly, and influence stakeholders at all levels. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to ethical integrity are essential.
• Language and Cultural Competency: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is a plus. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multicultural environment and adapt to evolving business needs.
