الوصف الوظيفي

Live-In Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse – Private Family Care

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Live-In Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse to provide expert, round-the-clock clinical care for a medically complex newborn transitioning home following a prolonged NICU stay and major surgical intervention. This critical role requires a dedicated Registered Nurse with extensive experience in neonatal and pediatric care to ensure the highest standards of recovery, safety, and family support within a private household setting in Saudi Arabia.

As a Live-In NICU Nurse, you will be the primary healthcare advocate for this vulnerable newborn, collaborating closely with the family, treating physicians, and specialized therapists to deliver seamless, evidence-based care. This is not a general caregiving position—only qualified neonatal and pediatric nursing professionals with advanced clinical expertise will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialized neonatal nursing care aligned with hospital discharge plans and physician-prescribed protocols, ensuring continuity of high-quality medical management.
  • Monitor and assess the newborn’s vital signs, respiratory status, feeding tolerance, medication administration, and postoperative recovery with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Provide expert care for colostomy/stoma management, wound healing, and postoperative monitoring, adhering to strict sterile techniques and infection-control protocols.
  • Administer neonatal medications accurately and maintain comprehensive, up-to-date clinical documentation for seamless interdisciplinary communication.
  • Support safe feeding practices with aspiration precautions while tracking developmental milestones and growth progress.
  • Maintain impeccable infection control standards to mitigate risks in a home healthcare environment.
  • Serve as a liaison between the family, pediatricians, therapists, and other healthcare providers, ensuring coordinated and holistic care.
  • Remain proactive and responsive to neonatal emergencies, intervening within your professional scope to stabilize the newborn’s condition.
  • Offer emotional and educational support to the family, empowering them with confidence in managing their child’s complex medical needs.

Mandatory Requirements

  • A valid Registered Nurse (RN) license recognized in Saudi Arabia or eligibility to obtain a DHA/DOH license.
  • Minimum 5 years of specialized experience in Neonatal or Pediatric Nursing, with at least 2 years of recent hands-on NICU experience (Level III/IV preferred).
  • Proven expertise in caring for postoperative or medically complex newborns, including those with surgical interventions.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in colostomy/stoma care, neonatal medication administration, feeding support, and aspiration precautions.
  • Current Infant CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is a strong plus).
  • Fluency in English for clear communication with medical teams and families.
  • Willingness to live-in with the family in Saudi Arabia for the duration of the assignment.
  • Non-smoker and non-vaper.
  • Verifiable hospital/NICU references from recent clinical supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification for advanced emergency response capabilities.
  • Experience collaborating with occupational therapists, physiotherapists, or developmental specialists to support holistic newborn care.
  • Familiarity with home healthcare protocols and telemedicine coordination for remote physician consultations.

Note: Only candidates who meet all mandatory requirements will be considered for this role. This position demands a high level of clinical expertise, adaptability, and compassion to navigate the challenges of caring for a medically fragile newborn in a private setting.

How to Apply

To be considered for this opportunity, please submit your updated CV, along with:

  • Your nursing license status and proof of eligibility for a DHA/DOH license.
  • Certification details for Infant CPR/BLS (NRP/PALS preferred).
  • Two contactable clinical references from recent NICU supervisors or employers.

Send your application to [email protected] with the subject line: Live-In Neonatal / Pediatric Registered Nurse. We look forward to reviewing your credentials and discussing how your expertise can make a profound difference in this family’s journey.
