Senior Accounting Officer – Drive Financial Excellence Across All Business Units

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Accounting Officer will be responsible for a broad range of financial and accounting functions, including but not limited to:

• Financial Oversight: Lead the preparation, review, and consolidation of financial statements for all business units, ensuring adherence to international accounting standards (IFRS) and local regulatory requirements.
• Compliance & Governance: Ensure full compliance with financial regulations, internal policies, and audit standards. Collaborate closely with internal and external auditors to facilitate smooth audit processes and address any findings proactively.
• Strategic Financial Planning: Partner with senior leadership to develop and implement financial strategies that support business growth, cost optimization, and risk management across all operating units.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance internal controls, and implement best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
• Team Leadership & Development: Mentor and lead a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and professional growth. Ensure the team is equipped to meet evolving business and regulatory demands.
• Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, providing clear, concise, and actionable financial insights to support informed decision-making. Liaise with cross-functional teams to align financial objectives with operational goals.
• Risk Management: Monitor financial risks, including liquidity, credit, and operational risks, and recommend mitigation strategies to safeguard the organization’s financial health.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and attributes:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Prior experience in a multi-business unit environment is preferred.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong command of financial software, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and advanced Excel skills. Familiarity with IFRS and local accounting regulations is essential.
• Leadership & Soft Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, communicate complex financial concepts clearly, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills are critical.
