Key Responsibilities

The Senior Accounting Officer will play a critical role in shaping the financial landscape of Almarai by executing the following responsibilities:

• Financial Oversight: Lead and supervise accounting functions across all business units, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in alignment with international accounting standards and local regulatory requirements.
• Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies that support long-term business objectives, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
• Compliance & Governance: Ensure adherence to corporate governance policies, internal controls, and audit requirements, mitigating financial risks and maintaining transparency in all financial transactions.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and guide a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement within the finance department.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key liaison between the finance department and other business units, providing financial insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making.
• Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance efficiency, and implement best practices to drive operational excellence.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a large organization or multinational corporation.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), financial software, and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Familiarity with IFRS and local accounting regulations is essential.
• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage complex financial projects, and drive organizational change.
• Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to senior management.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Arabic, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely to diverse stakeholders.
