Entomology Specialist

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Entomology Specialist to join our team at Quality Excellence Environmental Service Company, based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This on-site role is designed for professionals who possess a deep understanding of insect biology, behavior, and control methodologies. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing integrated pest management (IPM) strategies, ensuring compliance with environmental and regulatory standards while delivering exceptional service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

The Entomology Specialist will be responsible for a range of critical tasks, including but not limited to:

• Pest Identification and Assessment: Conduct thorough inspections to identify pest species, assess infestation levels, and determine the most effective control measures.
• Integrated Pest Management (IPM): Develop and execute customized IPM plans tailored to the unique needs of each client, emphasizing sustainable and environmentally responsible solutions.
• Treatment Implementation: Apply appropriate pest control treatments, including chemical, biological, and mechanical methods, while adhering to safety protocols and regulatory guidelines.
• Monitoring and Reporting: Continuously monitor pest activity, track treatment efficacy, and provide detailed reports to clients and internal stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability.
• Training and Education: Deliver training sessions to clients and staff on pest prevention techniques, proper sanitation practices, and the importance of maintaining a pest-free environment.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all pest control activities comply with local, regional, and international regulations, including health and safety standards.
• Research and Development: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in entomology and pest control technologies to enhance service offerings and improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and possess the following skills:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Entomology, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in pest management are highly desirable.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in entomology, pest control, or a closely related discipline, with a proven track record in developing and implementing IPM strategies.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of pest biology, identification techniques, and control methodologies, including familiarity with industry-standard equipment and software.
• Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities to assess complex pest issues and devise effective, long-term solutions.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients, team members, and regulatory authorities, as well as to prepare detailed reports and presentations.
• Certifications: Valid pest control operator license or certification, where applicable, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to perform fieldwork, including standing, walking, and lifting, often in challenging or outdoor environments.
