About the Role

Hexagon Autonomous Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Project Engineer I to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of complex technical projects within the mining systems domain. This pivotal role requires a unique blend of engineering expertise and project management acumen to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Project Engineer I will oversee the entire project lifecycle, from initial design and implementation to rigorous testing and seamless handover, while ensuring strict adherence to safety and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Project Execution and Oversight: Actively participate in the hands-on deployment of complex mining solutions, ensuring efficient and timely execution while maintaining budgetary constraints.
• Technical Leadership and Support: Serve as a primary point of escalation for technical issues raised by the team, working diligently to resolve challenges beyond the scope of standard project engineering responsibilities. Collaborate with Project Managers to optimize the deployment of mining systems.
• System Customization and Troubleshooting: Deliver bespoke customizations to meet customer requirements, troubleshoot system issues, and implement customer-specific system configurations using advanced scripting tools.
• Onsite Installation and Integration: Participate in onsite system installation efforts, addressing complex problem-solving scenarios involving multiple integrated systems to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
• Stakeholder Communication and Risk Management: Proactively identify and communicate risks or issues associated with products and technical solutions deployed to customer sites. Escalate critical issues requiring cross-functional input, including collaboration with Mining Services or supporting teams, to ensure timely resolution.
• Knowledge Management and Innovation: Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of current and upcoming product offerings, as well as emerging strategies and technologies in systems support. Leverage industry links and professional memberships to stay ahead of industry trends.
• Reporting and Documentation: Provide regular updates on project status, including issue resolution methods, and advise the Mining Services Team of potential customer concerns or opportunities for Hexagon.
• Pre-Sales Collaboration: Work closely with the sales team in a pre-sales capacity, contributing to technical presentations and providing expert guidance to support customer engagements.
• Professional Representation: Uphold Hexagon’s brand reputation by representing the company in a courteous, professional, and helpful manner at all times, both internally and externally.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure strict adherence to Hexagon Mining’s Workplace Health and Safety policies, participate in audits, and comply with all safety instructions to safeguard both personal and team well-being.
• Process Adherence: Maintain, enhance, and strictly adhere to Hexagon’s documentation, reporting standards, systems, and processes, ensuring consistency and efficiency across all project activities.

Skills and Experience

• Technical Proficiency: Strong ability to rapidly grasp technical solutions, concepts, and products, with a focus on maintaining and supporting Linux/Unix environments, developing or supporting open-source software, and setting up and supporting relational databases.
• Project Management: Exceptional prioritization and time management skills, with the ability to set and meet both team and individual goals and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
