Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Services Engineer to join our Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization (CAMO) department. In this pivotal role, you will play a critical part in managing and coordinating engineering activities to optimize aircraft and engine performance, reliability, and cost efficiency. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving sustainable operational practices while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This position requires a strategic mindset, strong technical acumen, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to enhance the airline’s overall efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

The Technical Services Engineer will be responsible for a wide range of technical and financial activities, including:

• Maintenance and Engineering Guidance: Provide expert advice on maintenance, repair, overhaul, and modification of aircraft and equipment to enhance performance and reliability.
• Defect and Delay Management: Monitor defects, delays, and engine removals, conducting thorough investigations to identify root causes and recommend effective remedial actions.
• Regulatory Compliance and Performance Optimization: Review technical data from manufacturers and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance, identify performance improvement opportunities, and drive cost efficiency.
• Technical Documentation and Communication: Liaise with manufacturers to interpret technical bulletins and translate them into internal documentation, such as Engineering Orders and Special Work Instructions, ensuring clarity and accuracy for all stakeholders.
• Modification and Repair Evaluation: Assess specifications for modifications and repairs, advising on the selection and implementation of specialized tools and equipment to meet operational and financial objectives.
• Document Review and Updates: Maintain and update technical documents, including modifications, Technical Notices, and Aircraft Maintenance Program (AMP) Amendments, to reflect the latest industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Incident and Accident Investigations: Coordinate investigations into incidents and accidents, initiating follow-up actions to address component and system failures and prevent recurrence.
• Local Modifications and Maintenance Support: Provide support for local modifications, maintenance schedule amendments, and concessions on aircraft and components, ensuring alignment with operational and financial goals.
• Material Management Coordination: Assist in material management functions, including Airbus Fleet Health System (FHS) engineering and shop visit reports, to streamline processes and reduce downtime.
• Cost Tracking and Financial Analysis: Track and manage maintenance and engineering costs, including both scheduled and unscheduled activities, while performing detailed cost analyses to support informed decision-making.
• Financial Reporting and Database Management: Develop and maintain accurate cost databases, providing regular cost performance reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Cost-Saving Initiatives: Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities within the CAMO department, driving continuous improvement in financial and operational efficiency.

Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and experience:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering or an equivalent field is required. A Master’s degree in Finance or Business Administration is preferred to complement technical expertise with financial acumen.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Technical Services Engineer in an airline environment, with a proven track record in managing technical and financial aspects of aircraft maintenance.
• Engine-Specific Knowledge: Hands-on experience with CFM56 and LEAP-1A engines, including on-wing and off-wing management, is essential for this role.
• Industry Familiarity: Preference will be given to candidates with experience in low-cost airline operations, where efficiency and cost control are paramount.
• Financial and Cost Management: Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance costs, lifecycle costing, and financial management principles to drive sustainable operational practices.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in aviation Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, particularly AMOS, is required to manage technical and financial data effectively.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate seamlessly with internal teams, manufacturers, and regulatory bodies, ensuring alignment and clarity in all technical and financial discussions.
