Role Overview

The Supply Chain Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless execution of AbbVie’s supply chain operations. This position is responsible for overseeing demand planning, supply planning, inventory management, and cross-functional collaboration to maintain service continuity and align supply, demand, and financial commitments. The ideal candidate will drive forecast accuracy, optimize inventory levels, and foster strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to execute business plans and support product launches efficiently. This role is instrumental in enhancing operational efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Demand Planning Leadership: Establish and maintain a robust demand planning process to deliver a comprehensive and accurate demand forecast across a 28-month planning horizon, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• End-to-End Supply Chain Management: Oversee demand planning, supply planning, inventory management, and logistics activities to ensure seamless operations and timely product availability.
• Strategic Supply Chain Development: Develop and implement innovative supply chain strategies aimed at improving operational efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing overall performance.
• Supplier Performance Oversight: Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and service levels to mitigate risks and ensure consistent, high-quality supply chain operations.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, and Commercial teams to align supply chain activities with broader business goals and regulatory requirements.
• Financial and Operational Alignment: Compare demand forecasts against financial commitments to ensure alignment with approved plans and identify discrepancies for corrective action.
• Regulatory Compliance: Coordinate with the Regulatory department and other stakeholders to manage SKU changes in compliance with applicable regulations, including SFDA standards.
• Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze supply chain data to identify risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement, driving continuous enhancement across the organization.
• New Product Launches: Support the planning, forecasting, and distribution of new products, ensuring smooth integration into the supply chain and market.
• Process Optimization: Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline supply chain operations, enhance productivity, and reduce waste.
• Order Processing Support: Facilitate order processing activities, including new order communication, troubleshooting shipment requests, product grouping, and order amendments resulting from supply reviews.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy Science, Operations, Supply Chain, Business Management, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus but not mandatory.
• Experience: Minimum of five years of relevant work experience in a supply chain or operations environment, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, with hands-on experience using ERP systems and supply chain planning tools.
• Communication and Leadership: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with a proven track record in stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.
• Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or professional certifications such as CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) or CISCM (Chartered Institute of Supply Chain Management).
• Familiarity with lean principles and process improvement methodologies, such as Six Sigma or Kaizen.
