In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of Oracle database systems to ensure high performance, reliability, and security. Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Oracle Database Administrator, your core responsibilities will include:

• Database Design and Architecture: Design, develop, and implement scalable Oracle database solutions that align with business requirements and industry best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database architectures support application performance and data integrity.
• Database Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software, including RAC, Data Guard, and GoldenGate, to meet organizational needs. Ensure seamless integration with existing systems while maintaining compliance with licensing and security standards.
• Performance Tuning and Optimization: Proactively monitor database performance using advanced tools and methodologies. Identify bottlenecks, optimize SQL queries, and fine-tune database parameters to enhance efficiency, reduce latency, and maximize resource utilization.
• Backup, Recovery, and Disaster Recovery: Develop and implement robust backup and recovery strategies to safeguard critical data. Manage Oracle Data Guard configurations for high availability and disaster recovery, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss in the event of failures.
• Security and Compliance: Enforce stringent security policies to protect sensitive data. Implement role-based access controls, encryption, and auditing mechanisms in accordance with industry regulations and organizational policies. Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans.
• Database Maintenance and Upgrades: Plan and execute database maintenance tasks, including patching, upgrades, and migrations. Stay current with Oracle’s latest features and updates to leverage new functionalities that drive operational excellence.
• Troubleshooting and Incident Management: Serve as a technical escalation point for database-related issues. Diagnose complex problems, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to restore service promptly. Maintain detailed documentation of incidents and resolutions.
• Team Leadership and Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior database administrators and IT staff. Lead by example in fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Oracle Certified Master (OCM)) are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience as an Oracle Database Administrator, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead capacity. Proven expertise in Oracle 12c, 19c, or 21c, including RAC, Data Guard, and GoldenGate configurations.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of Oracle database administration, SQL tuning, PL/SQL development, and performance monitoring tools such as AWR, ASH, and Enterprise Manager. Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems and scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) is essential.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Demonstrated leadership qualities with the capacity to mentor and inspire teams.
• Certifications: Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Master (OCM) in Database Administration is a plus. Additional certifications in cloud databases (e.g., Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) or cybersecurity are advantageous.
• Languages: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is a valuable asset.
