About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Automation & Platform Engineer to join our dynamic team, based in Saudi Arabia. This senior-level position is pivotal in transforming our internal IT infrastructure into a scalable, automated, and developer-friendly technology platform. The ideal candidate will architect and operate a sophisticated business systems ecosystem that seamlessly integrates SaaS applications, cloud infrastructure, identity platforms, and collaboration tools. This role transcends traditional IT support, blending business systems engineering, software development, automation, security, and IT operations into a cohesive and forward-thinking function.

Key Responsibilities

The IT Automation & Platform Engineer will play a central role in designing, administering, and continuously enhancing our internal business systems ecosystem. This includes integrating and optimizing platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, customer support systems, billing solutions, HR tools, collaboration suites, and engineering platforms. The responsibilities encompass a broad spectrum of technical and strategic initiatives:

• System Architecture & Integration: Architect and maintain a robust business systems ecosystem that ensures seamless data synchronization and workflow reliability across multiple SaaS platforms and internal systems.
• Automation Development: Design and implement automation tooling, internal services, and self-service capabilities using programming languages such as Python, Go, Bash, or equivalent technologies. Focus on reducing manual intervention and enhancing operational efficiency through code-driven solutions.
• API & Integration Development: Develop and maintain API-driven integrations leveraging REST and GraphQL APIs, OAuth, webhooks, SDKs, and integration frameworks to connect disparate systems and enable data flow automation.
• Workflow Automation: Automate critical business processes, including CRM workflows, customer and billing data synchronization, entitlement provisioning, employee onboarding and offboarding, and access management to ensure consistency and security.
• Internal Tooling & Developer Experience: Create internal CLI tools, automation services, dashboards, bots, and ChatOps integrations that empower teams to operate more efficiently and autonomously. Develop a "golden path" for employees through self-service IT workflows, identity provisioning automation, and developer-friendly APIs.
• AI-Powered Solutions: Identify and implement AI-assisted and AI-driven solutions to enhance internal support, knowledge retrieval, ticket triage, SaaS workflows, and operational data analysis, driving continuous improvement in IT and business operations.
• Senior Escalation & Support: Serve as a senior escalation point for IT support, conducting comprehensive root-cause analysis and applying a people-first approach to address employee technology needs effectively.
• Cloud Infrastructure Management: Operate and improve cloud infrastructure across AWS and GCP, ensuring the underlying technology ecosystem and internal services are secure, scalable, and performant.
• Security & Compliance: Implement and administer endpoint security and device management solutions, including Mobile Device Management and enterprise password-management platforms. Manage identity and access processes such as SSO, SAML, SCIM provisioning, identity lifecycle automation, and Zero Trust access controls. Ensure alignment with security frameworks including ISO 27001, SOC 2, and GDPR, and conduct regular access reviews to strengthen security posture.
• Reliability Engineering: Apply reliability engineering principles to internal IT services, establishing appropriate monitoring, service level objectives, and operational practices to ensure high availability and performance.
• Process Optimization: Proactively identify manual, inefficient, or error-prone processes and design automated solutions to enhance scalability, reduce operational overhead, and improve overall efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must possess a robust technical background and a passion for automation and platform engineering. The ideal candidate will have:

• 8+ years of experience in IT Engineering, Systems Engineering, Business Systems Engineering, Platform Engineering, or a related field, with at least 3+ years in a senior role where they owned internal business systems and automation within a SaaS or technology environment.
• Strong programming and scripting capabilities in Python, Go, or comparable languages, with a proven ability to develop automation solutions and internal tools.
• Extensive experience with API development and integrations, including REST, GraphQL, OAuth, webhooks, and SDKs, as well as integration frameworks and middleware solutions.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP, including infrastructure management, security best practices, and cost optimization.
• Deep understanding of identity and access management, including SSO, SAML, SCIM, Zero Trust principles, and identity lifecycle automation.
• Familiarity with endpoint security and device management solutions, including Mobile Device Management (MDM) and enterprise password management platforms.
• Experience with security and compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and GDPR, and a commitment to maintaining operational alignment with these standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to design scalable, reliable, and secure solutions for complex operational challenges.
