Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer specializing in pavement design to join our dynamic team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This critical role focuses on the design and development of robust pavement systems for airport infrastructure, ensuring durability, safety, and compliance with international standards. The ideal candidate will possess a meticulous approach, exceptional analytical skills, and extensive experience in airport pavement design. You will be responsible for delivering complex infrastructure projects with precision, from conceptualization to final construction documentation, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Pavement Design & Analysis: Design and analyze airport pavement systems, including runways, taxiways, and aprons, utilizing industry-standard software and methodologies to ensure structural integrity and longevity.
• Compliance & Documentation: Develop detailed pavement design specifications and construction documentation in strict adherence to FAA, ICAO, and local Saudi Arabian regulatory standards.
• Geotechnical Coordination: Conduct geotechnical analysis and collaborate with soil engineers to optimize pavement performance and durability, ensuring long-term stability.
• Technical Drawings & Plans: Prepare precise technical drawings, plans, and specifications using advanced CAD software, such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D, to facilitate seamless project execution.
• Structural Modeling: Perform structural analysis and modeling of pavement layers to determine optimal thickness requirements and material specifications, balancing cost-effectiveness with performance.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to assess design feasibility, mitigate risks, and ensure alignment with project objectives and budget constraints.
• Pavement Evaluation & Rehabilitation: Review existing pavement conditions and recommend strategic rehabilitation or reconstruction measures to extend service life and enhance operational efficiency.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs meet stringent regulatory requirements, safety standards, and project specifications, with a focus on sustainability and resilience.
• Construction Support: Participate in site inspections and provide technical guidance during construction phases to uphold design integrity and resolve on-site challenges.
• Documentation & Quality Assurance: Maintain meticulous project documentation and ensure compliance with quality assurance protocols to guarantee project success and regulatory adherence.

Qualifications & Skills

• Professional Experience: Minimum of 10+ years in civil engineering design, with a specialized focus on pavement design and airport infrastructure.
• Airport Project Expertise: Proven track record in designing airport facilities, including runways, taxiways, aprons, hangars, or related structures.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or equivalent pavement design tools) and pavement analysis software (e.g., KENPAVE, EVERSTRESS).
• Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of pavement design standards and methodologies, including FAA, ICAO, and AASHTO guidelines, with a focus on compliance and best practices.
• Geotechnical Insight: Solid grasp of geotechnical principles and their application to airport pavement design, ensuring optimal performance under varying conditions.
• Documentation Skills: Demonstrated ability to prepare comprehensive construction specifications and technical documentation that meet industry and regulatory standards.
• Analytical & Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills, coupled with meticulous attention to detail to deliver high-quality, error-free designs.
