Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Cost Management Engineer will play a pivotal role in optimizing production costs and enhancing financial efficiency within Lenovo’s manufacturing operations. This position requires a strategic mindset and analytical expertise to develop and implement cost management frameworks that align with the factory’s financial management methodologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following core duties:

• Cost Structure Development: Establish and maintain a robust cost management structure tailored to the production department, ensuring alignment with Lenovo’s financial management standards and operational objectives.
• Data Analysis and Optimization: Collect, analyze, and interpret production cost data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost reduction. Leverage data-driven insights to propose actionable strategies that enhance financial performance without compromising quality or productivity.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement by monitoring cost performance, implementing corrective actions, and fostering collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve sustainable cost efficiencies. Regularly review and update cost management processes to reflect evolving business needs and industry best practices.
• Reporting and Communication: Prepare detailed cost analysis reports, present findings to stakeholders, and recommend cost-saving initiatives to senior management. Ensure transparency and accountability in financial reporting to support informed decision-making.
• Compliance and Governance: Adhere to Lenovo’s financial policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards while maintaining the highest levels of integrity in all cost management activities.

Qualifications and Skills

Ideal candidates will possess a strong foundation in cost accounting, financial analysis, and production management, combined with excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Proficiency in data analysis tools, ERP systems, and cost modeling software is highly desirable. A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field is required, with relevant certifications such as CMA or CPA considered a plus. Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred, along with a demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, global organization.
