QA/QC Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented QA/QC Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will play a critical part in ensuring that all project activities, materials, and deliverables adhere to stringent quality standards, industry specifications, codes, and contractual obligations. Key Responsibilities

The QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for the following core duties:

• Quality Management System (QMS) Development and Maintenance: Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001 standards and other relevant industry benchmarks to ensure consistent quality performance.
• Documentation and Procedure Management: Prepare, review, and update critical documents, including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality control procedures, and method statements to ensure alignment with project requirements and regulatory standards.
• Comprehensive Inspections and Audits: Conduct meticulous site and factory inspections at critical stages—such as material receipt, in-process stages, and final inspection—to verify strict adherence to engineering drawings, specifications, and contractual obligations.
• Documentation Review and Approval: Evaluate and approve material submittals, shop drawings, and quality documentation from subcontractors to ensure compliance with project standards and regulatory requirements.
• Third-Party Coordination: Facilitate and coordinate third-party inspections, testing, and certifications as mandated by project specifications or regulatory bodies, ensuring seamless execution and documentation.
• Non-Conformance Management: Identify deviations from quality standards, raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and systematically track Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to resolution, mitigating risks and preventing recurrence.
• Audit Support and Reporting: Conduct internal audits and provide support during external or client audits. Prepare detailed audit reports and follow up on findings to ensure timely and effective resolution.
• Record Keeping and Traceability: Maintain meticulous and accurate quality records, inspection reports, test certificates, and traceability documentation to support compliance and accountability.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a liaison between project management, engineering, procurement, and site teams to promptly address and resolve quality-related issues, fostering a collaborative and solution-oriented environment.
• Process Improvement and Training: Lead root cause analysis for recurring quality issues and recommend strategic process improvements. Conduct training sessions and toolbox talks to enhance quality awareness and competency among site and production personnel.
• Compliance and Reporting: Ensure full compliance with client specifications, industry codes (such as ASME, ASTM, API, BS, EN), and statutory/regulatory requirements. Compile quality metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and prepare periodic quality performance reports for senior management review.

Qualifications and Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, with a specialization in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or a closely related discipline.
• Certifications (Preferred): Certification as an ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor is highly desirable and will be considered a significant advantage.
• Professional Experience: A minimum of 3 to 8 years of hands-on experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Control within the construction or manufacturing sectors, demonstrating a proven track record in implementing quality systems and resolving complex quality challenges.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in Arabic and professional proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages to ensure clear and accurate documentation and coordination.
• Technical Competencies:
  • In-depth understanding of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System requirements and documentation processes.
  • Expertise in interpreting engineering drawings, P&IDs, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, and technical specifications to ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Knowledge of material testing methodologies and standards to validate compliance and performance.
