Mid-Level API Developer - Onsite - KSA - 4 months - Octopus by RTG

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mid-Level API Developer to join our dynamic team in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), for a four-month contract engagement with Octopus by RTG. This onsite role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge API development projects while collaborating with a forward-thinking organization. Key Responsibilities

• API Development & Design: Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure RESTful APIs and microservices to support business applications and integrations.
• Integration & Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, backend engineers, and product managers, to ensure seamless API integration and functionality across systems.
• Performance Optimization: Analyze API performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to enhance speed, reliability, and efficiency.
• Security & Compliance: Ensure APIs adhere to industry best practices for security, including authentication, authorization, and data encryption, while complying with relevant regulatory standards.
• Documentation & Maintenance: Create and maintain comprehensive API documentation to facilitate ease of use for internal teams and external stakeholders. Perform regular updates and debugging to ensure long-term stability.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Develop and execute unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to validate API functionality, reliability, and security. Collaborate with QA teams to resolve issues promptly.
• Cloud & DevOps Practices: Leverage cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and DevOps tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) to deploy, monitor, and scale APIs efficiently in a cloud-native environment.
• Troubleshooting & Support: Provide technical support for API-related issues, diagnose problems, and implement corrective measures to minimize downtime and disruptions.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in API development, with proficiency in designing and implementing RESTful services.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in programming languages such as Java, Python, Node.js, or C#. Familiarity with API frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, Django REST, Express.js) and tools like Postman, Swagger, or OpenAPI is essential.
• Database Management: Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) for efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Cloud & DevOps: Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is highly desirable.
• Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues, debug code, and implement scalable solutions in a collaborative setting.
• Communication & Teamwork: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
• Adaptability: Ability to quickly learn new technologies and methodologies, while adapting to evolving project requirements and business needs.
