Key Responsibilities

The Technical Design Director – Civil Engineering will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of engineers, designers, and technical specialists to deliver high-quality, sustainable, and cost-effective civil engineering solutions. Your core duties will include:

• Technical Leadership: Provide strategic direction and technical oversight for civil engineering projects, ensuring compliance with local and international design codes, standards, and regulations.
• Project Execution: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, contractors, and stakeholders, to develop and implement comprehensive design strategies that optimize project outcomes.
• Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce rigorous quality control processes to guarantee the accuracy, efficiency, and reliability of technical deliverables, including drawings, specifications, and calculations.
• Innovation and Sustainability: Champion the integration of cutting-edge technologies, sustainable materials, and eco-friendly practices to enhance project resilience and reduce environmental impact.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you must possess a blend of technical expertise, leadership acumen, and industry experience. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., P.E., CEng) is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in civil engineering design, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial capacity. Prior involvement in large-scale infrastructure projects is preferred.
• Technical Proficiency: Deep knowledge of civil engineering principles, including structural analysis, geotechnical engineering, transportation systems, and water resources management. Familiarity with industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, ETABS) is essential.
• Leadership and Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, as well as articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Problem-Solving: A proactive and analytical mindset, capable of identifying challenges, evaluating alternatives, and implementing effective solutions under tight deadlines.
