IT Capacity Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic IT Capacity Manager to join our dynamic IT Strategy & Architecture team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This critical role is designed for a seasoned professional with a minimum of five years of experience in IT capacity management, forecasting, and resource optimization. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing IT capacity across multiple domains, including workforce, infrastructure, software licenses, cloud services, and Managed Services. Your expertise will drive efficient capacity planning, demand validation, and resource utilization, ensuring seamless alignment with organizational objectives while maintaining cost-effectiveness and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

The IT Capacity Manager will play a pivotal role in the following areas:

• Capacity Planning & Forecasting: Develop and maintain robust short-, medium-, and long-term capacity forecasts for both projects and operational activities. Assess demand against available capacity to identify gaps, dependencies, and constraints, ensuring proactive resource allocation.
• Resource Optimization: Monitor and optimize workforce allocation, infrastructure utilization, cloud services, software licenses, and Managed Services to enhance efficiency and reduce unnecessary expenditures.
• Software License Management: Oversee software license entitlements, consumption tracking, and compliance to mitigate risks and ensure adherence to licensing agreements.
• Quarterly Capacity Reviews: Lead and facilitate quarterly capacity reviews and re-planning sessions to align IT resources with business demands and strategic goals.
• Reporting & Recommendations: Prepare comprehensive capacity reports, interactive dashboards, and actionable management recommendations to support data-driven decision-making.
• Data Consolidation & Collaboration: Gather and consolidate data from various IT teams, the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), internal systems, and external service providers to maintain accurate and up-to-date capacity insights.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate closely with IT, Finance, Procurement, HR, and external service providers to ensure seamless integration of capacity management processes across the organization.

Required Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of five years in IT Capacity Management, Capacity Planning, Technology Operations, IT Asset Management, Infrastructure Governance, Resource Planning, or Managed Services.
• Technical Expertise: Proven experience in capacity forecasting, utilization analysis, demand and capacity management, and scenario planning. Familiarity with at least one capacity domain, such as IT infrastructure, workforce/resource planning, cloud services, software licensing, or Managed Services, is essential.
• Software License Management: Hands-on experience in managing software license entitlements, utilization, and compliance to ensure organizational adherence to licensing agreements.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in both Arabic and English is mandatory to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.

Essential Skills

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical and analytical skills, including:

• Expertise in IT Capacity Planning & Forecasting, Demand & Capacity Management, and Resource & Workforce Planning.
• Strong background in Infrastructure & Cloud Capacity Management, IT Asset & Software License Management, and Capacity Utilization & Performance Analysis.
• Proficiency in Data Analysis & Scenario Modelling to support strategic decision-making.
• In-depth knowledge of IT Governance principles and ITIL frameworks to ensure best practices in capacity management.
• Exceptional Stakeholder & Vendor Management skills to foster productive relationships across departments and external partners.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with reporting tools to create insightful and actionable reports.
• A structured, analytical, and data-driven approach to problem-solving and decision-making.

Preferred Skills & Certifications

While not mandatory, the following skills and certifications will be considered advantageous:

• Experience with ServiceNow ITAM/SPM, CMDB, or similar platforms for asset and capacity management.
• Proficiency in Power BI or comparable reporting tools to enhance data visualization and reporting capabilities.
• Certification or knowledge in ITIL Capacity & Performance Management to demonstrate adherence to industry standards.
• Prior experience in banking, financial services, regulated environments, or complex multi-vendor/Managed Services environments.
• Relevant certifications in ServiceNow, IT Asset Management (ITAM), Cloud technologies, or IT Governance.
