الوصف الوظيفي

Senior Technical Mechanical Engineer – HVAC Systems

At ARX, we are pioneering the future of infrastructure and sustainability through a global network of engineering excellence. As a leading consultancy in design, project management, and technical services, we deliver innovative solutions across a diverse portfolio, including airports, high-rise developments, hospitality projects, and large-scale commercial facilities. Our multidisciplinary teams combine cutting-edge expertise with a deep understanding of regional needs, ensuring that every project reflects both global best practices and local relevance.

Our expansion into the Middle East marks a pivotal moment in our growth, and we are now seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Mechanical Engineer (HVAC Systems) to join our team in Madinah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This role will be instrumental in driving technical excellence across high-performance HVAC systems for some of the region’s most ambitious developments.

In this position, you will leverage your extensive expertise to lead technical reviews, design validation, and cross-disciplinary coordination for complex HVAC solutions. Your work will ensure compliance with international standards while addressing the unique challenges of high-rise, mixed-use, and hospitality projects. This is an opportunity to contribute to transformative infrastructure that enhances comfort, efficiency, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

As the Senior Technical Mechanical Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Technical Leadership: Lead comprehensive technical reviews for HVAC systems, encompassing central cooling plants, chilled-water networks, air distribution systems, and mechanical smoke-control solutions. Ensure alignment with project requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Load and System Calculations: Perform and audit critical calculations, including cooling and heating load assessments, chilled-water hydraulics, pump head analysis, duct static pressure evaluations, and expansion tank sizing. Validate staircase and lift-core pressurization designs in accordance with local and international codes.
  • Design Validation and Coordination: Review and validate HVAC shop drawings, riser diagrams, chiller plant schematics, ductwork and piping layouts, plant room sections, and coordinated BIM models (Revit/Navisworks). Ensure seamless integration with architectural, structural, electrical, fire safety, and BMS teams.
  • Technical Submittals and Compliance: Assess material submittals, equipment datasheets, and compliance documentation for chillers, AHUs, FCUs, VAV systems, cooling towers, pumps, VFDs, dampers, and controls. Ensure all selections meet performance and safety requirements.
  • Interface Coordination: Facilitate collaboration between HVAC, architecture, structural engineering, electrical systems, BMS, fire life safety, plumbing, and site teams. Identify and resolve interface clashes, constructability concerns, and compliance gaps.
  • Commissioning and Testing: Develop and review testing and commissioning method statements, TAB procedures, inspection plans, and functional performance requirements. Ensure alignment with HVAC/BMS sequence of operation documentation.
  • Documentation and Close-Out: Maintain meticulous records of technical reviews, calculations, coordinated comments, and close-out documentation to ensure project continuity and accountability.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Participate in technical meetings, consultant/client reviews, coordination workshops, and discussions with specialist suppliers to drive project success.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a strong focus on HVAC systems.
  • Valid Saudi Council of Engineers accreditation to align with local regulatory requirements.
  • 12 to 15 years of specialized experience in technical-office roles, HVAC design, design review, or mechanical coordination, with a proven track record in high-rise, hospitality, or mixed-use projects.
  • Deep expertise in HVAC system design, including cooling-load calculations, chilled-water systems, air distribution, central plant coordination, and smoke-control solutions.
  • Proven ability to review and validate shop drawings, BIM models, and technical submittals while ensuring compliance with international standards (e.g., ASHRAE, local GCC regulations).
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Technical leadership with a commitment to innovation, sustainability, and delivering high-performance engineering solutions.

Join ARX in shaping the future of infrastructure in the Middle East. Your expertise will be instrumental in delivering world-class HVAC systems that set new benchmarks for efficiency, safety, and sustainability. We invite visionary professionals who are passionate about engineering excellence and community impact.
