الوصف الوظيفي

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cloud Platform Engineer to join our dynamic team, specializing in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This role is designed for professionals with 3 to 6 years of experience in cloud platform engineering, with a strong focus on designing, deploying, and managing secure, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in OCI, complemented by familiarity with at least one additional public cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Proficiency in automation tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines is essential to drive operational excellence and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

The OCI Engineer will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations, configuration, and optimization of cloud infrastructure services. The responsibilities include:

  • Provisioning and Configuration: Deploy and configure OCI resources, including Compute instances, Block/Object/FSS Storage, Virtual Cloud Networks (VCN), Load Balancers, Database Cloud Service (DBCS), and Autonomous Database (ADB), adhering to approved architectural designs and landing-zone patterns.
  • Networking and Security: Design, implement, and manage OCI networking components such as VCNs, subnets, route tables, security lists, and gateways. Establish secure connectivity solutions using FastConnect, IPSec VPN, and DNS configurations. Apply robust security controls, including IAM policies, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), encryption, and segmentation, while validating compliance through tools like Cloud Guard, Security Zones, and Vulnerability Scanning.
  • Automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC): Develop and maintain IaC modules using Terraform or OCI Resource Manager, alongside automation scripts in Ansible, Bash, or Python, to streamline routine tasks such as patching, certificate rotation, snapshots, and environment refreshes.
  • CI/CD and Deployment: Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines using OCI DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps to ensure seamless deployments and releases across multiple environments.
  • Monitoring and Incident Response: Monitor platform health and performance using OCI Monitoring, Logging, APM, and enterprise tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, or Dynatrace. Respond to alerts and incidents within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs), participate in on-call rotations, and execute change management processes.
  • Operational Excellence: Conduct routine operational tasks, including patching, backups, capacity checks, certificate renewals, and drift remediation. Maintain comprehensive runbooks, configuration records, and operational documentation to ensure consistency and reliability.
  • Access Management and Compliance: Manage user lifecycle, role assignments, service accounts, and periodic access reviews. Support audit and compliance efforts by gathering evidence and ensuring adherence to organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Migration and Modernization: Assist in migrating workloads to OCI through lift-and-shift or re-platforming strategies. Support application teams in deploying solutions on OCI, including Oracle Database, WebLogic, Oracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE), Functions, and API Gateway.
  • Cost Optimization: Implement cost-saving measures such as right-sizing resources, scheduling non-production environments, and cleaning up unused resources. Utilize OCI cost analysis tools to monitor and optimize spending.

Technical Skills and Expertise

The successful candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of the following OCI-specific technical areas:

  • Core Infrastructure: Compute (VM, Bare Metal, Flexible, Pools, Autoscaling), Block/Object/Archive/FSS Storage, VCNs, subnets, Security Lists vs. Network Security Groups (NSGs), route tables, gateways, DRG, Peering, FastConnect, IPSec VPN, OCI DNS, Traffic Management, Load Balancers (LB/NLB), and Web Application Firewall (WAF).
  • Identity, Security & Governance: OCI IAM (compartments, policies, groups, dynamic groups, identity domains, federation with Azure AD/Okta), instance and resource principals, Cloud Guard, Security Zones, Vault (KMS & Secrets), Vulnerability Scanning, Bastion, Data Safe, and Audit. Proficiency in tagging, budgets, quotas, and cost analysis is also required.
  • Database & Data Services: Operational experience with Database Cloud Service (DBCS), Exadata Cloud Service/Cloud@Customer (ExaCS/ExaCC), Autonomous Database (ATP/ADW), MySQL HeatWave, OCI Cache (Redis), and NoSQL Database. Familiarity with Data Pump, GoldenGate basics, and Database Migration Service is beneficial.
  • Application & Developer Services: Hands-on experience with Oracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE), Oracle Container Registry (OCIR), Functions, API Gateway, Events, Notifications, Streaming, and Queue. Proficiency in OCI DevOps (repositories, build and deployment pipelines, artifacts), Resource Manager, Stacks, and drift detection is essential.
  • Observability & Operations: Expertise in OCI Monitoring (metrics, alarms), Logging, Logging Analytics, Service Connector Hub, APM, OS Management Hub, and Operations Insights. Familiarity with enterprise monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, or Dynatrace is a plus.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • 3 to 6 years of experience in cloud platform engineering, with a primary focus on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
  • Proficiency in at least one additional public cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using Terraform, Ansible, Bash, Python, or similar tools.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
  • Indian nationality with the ability to work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud infrastructure, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and operational excellence.
