Key Responsibilities

As a Computer/Coding Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, engaging, and student-centered instruction. Your responsibilities will include:

• Curriculum Development: Design, adapt, and implement a comprehensive computer science and coding curriculum tailored to the needs of diverse student learners, ensuring alignment with national and international educational standards.
• Instructional Delivery: Conduct dynamic and interactive lessons that cover fundamental and advanced topics in computer science, including programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++), algorithms, data structures, web development, and computational thinking.
• Student Engagement & Mentorship: Foster a collaborative and inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to explore, experiment, and develop problem-solving skills. Provide personalized mentorship to support students in achieving their academic and career aspirations in technology.
• Assessment & Evaluation: Develop and administer assessments to measure student progress, identify areas for improvement, and provide constructive feedback. Utilize data-driven insights to refine teaching strategies and enhance learning outcomes.
• Extracurricular Leadership: Lead or participate in coding clubs, hackathons, competitions, and other extracurricular activities to promote a culture of innovation and creativity among students.
• Professional Development: Stay abreast of emerging trends, tools, and best practices in computer science education through continuous learning and participation in professional development opportunities. Share knowledge and collaborate with colleagues to elevate the overall quality of the educational program.
• Technology Integration: Leverage educational technology and digital resources to enhance teaching effectiveness and student engagement. Ensure the integration of modern tools and platforms to prepare students for the demands of a technology-driven world.
• Parent & Stakeholder Communication: Maintain open and transparent communication with parents, guardians, and school leadership to discuss student progress, address concerns, and celebrate achievements.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Education, or a related field is required. A master’s degree or advanced certification in a relevant discipline is highly desirable.
• Teaching Experience: Proven experience in teaching computer science, coding, or related subjects at the secondary or post-secondary level. Prior experience in curriculum development and instructional design is a strong asset.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript), software development methodologies, and tools such as Git, IDEs, and version control systems. Familiarity with web development frameworks (e.g., React, Django) and databases is beneficial.
• Pedagogical Skills: Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to create an engaging, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment. Experience with differentiated instruction and project-based learning is preferred.
• Communication & Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts in an accessible and engaging manner. A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively within a team are essential.
• Certifications & Professional Affiliations: Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Coding Instructor, Microsoft Certified Educator) and memberships in professional organizations (e.g., ACM, CSTA) are advantageous.
• Cultural Competency: A deep understanding of and commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment, with sensitivity to the cultural and educational needs of students in Saudi Arabia.
