Key Responsibilities

The Accounting Intern – AR will play a pivotal role in supporting the Accounts Receivable department by performing a variety of tasks designed to enhance financial processes and maintain robust cash flow management. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Invoice Processing and Management: Assist in the preparation, verification, and issuance of invoices to clients, ensuring timely and accurate billing in accordance with company policies and contractual agreements.
• Payment Reconciliation: Support the reconciliation of customer payments with outstanding invoices, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues to maintain accurate accounts receivable records.
• Customer Account Maintenance: Update and maintain customer account records, including credit limits, payment terms, and aging reports, to ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
• Collections Support: Collaborate with the collections team to follow up on overdue payments, communicate professionally with clients to resolve payment delays, and escalate unresolved issues to senior management as needed.
• Reporting and Analysis: Assist in generating monthly, quarterly, and annual AR reports, providing insights into cash flow trends, aging analysis, and customer payment behaviors to support strategic decision-making.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline AR processes, reduce inefficiencies, and implement best practices to enhance operational performance and financial accuracy.
• Compliance and Audit Support: Ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations, including IFRS and local tax laws, while assisting with internal and external audits as required.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates should possess a strong academic background in accounting, finance, or a related field, along with a keen interest in pursuing a career in corporate finance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications and attributes:

• A current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Familiarity with accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and accounts receivable processes is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, with the ability to analyze data and generate reports using advanced functions.
