Assistant Manager – Training & Development

As part of our Human Resources team, you will collaborate closely with leadership to identify skill gaps, develop tailored training programs, and ensure measurable outcomes that contribute to both individual and organizational success. Your expertise will extend across a diverse range of topics, including product knowledge, company values, leadership development, and exceptional customer service—ensuring our team is equipped to deliver unparalleled experiences to our guests.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will encompass the following critical areas:

• Training Program Administration: Lead the promotion and execution of comprehensive training initiatives, ensuring all employees are informed and engaged. Champion a culture of hospitality excellence by modeling superior customer service and fostering a positive work environment. Guide employees in adopting behaviors that enhance service quality and align with guest expectations. Utilize proven training methodologies to instill a deep understanding of guest satisfaction principles and ensure consistent application across all interactions.
• Training Effectiveness Evaluation: Monitor participation and attendance in training programs while conducting regular assessments to measure progress and address participant concerns. Partner with operational leaders to evaluate the transfer of learned skills into real-world performance. Analyze feedback, guest satisfaction data, and other metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and refine training approaches. Ensure all programs adhere to adult learning principles to maximize engagement and retention.
• Training Program Development: Conduct thorough needs assessments to pinpoint performance gaps and collaborate with managers to design and implement targeted training solutions. Align training initiatives with key business indicators to drive measurable results. Develop guidelines and expectations that empower employees to perform at their best while reinforcing our brand values and philosophy. Incorporate guest satisfaction as a core focus in departmental discussions, driving continuous improvement.
• Budget Management: Assist in developing and managing the training budget in alignment with HR and financial goals. Monitor departmental expenditures to ensure cost-effectiveness while achieving or exceeding budget targets. Utilize procurement tools, such as the P-card, to control and track spending responsibly.

Qualifications & Requirements

We are seeking a detail-oriented and passionate professional with a strong foundation in training and development. Ideal candidates will meet one of the following criteria:

• Education & Experience: A two-year degree from an accredited institution in Human Resources, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field, combined with one year of experience in HR or a related professional area. Certification as a trainer is required.
• Alternative Path: A four-year bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field, along with certification as a trainer. No prior work experience is required for this qualification.
