Position Overview

APTIM is seeking driven and forward-thinking Entry Level Engineers to join our elite team of engineering professionals dedicated to supporting Federal Fueling programs. As a vital member of our organization, you will contribute to the design, construction, and commissioning of critical fueling infrastructure, including bulk storage tanks, fueling piers, pipeline systems, pumphouses, truck loading/offloading terminals, and aircraft direct refueling facilities. This role offers a dynamic platform to apply your technical expertise while collaborating with industry leaders to deliver innovative solutions in both domestic and international settings.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

As an Entry Level Engineer in our Federal Fueling programs, you will be responsible for a diverse range of engineering tasks that span the entire project lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Technical Analysis and Documentation: Review and interpret project specifications, drawings, scope of work documents, and field data to ensure alignment with project objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Engineering Deliverables: Prepare comprehensive technical documents, including scopes of work, specifications, drawings, material lists, cost estimates, engineering calculations, work method procedures, and project reports.
  • Project Coordination: Complete requests for information (RFIs), evaluate submittals, and assist in material selection to maintain project momentum and compliance with industry standards.
  • Compliance and Standards: Develop a deep understanding of and adhere to industry standards set by organizations such as the American Petroleum Institute (API), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and the American Concrete Institute (ACI).
  • Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all construction practices comply with federal, state, and local codes, as well as company procedures and contractual obligations to uphold the highest standards of safety and quality.
  • Document Management: Organize and manage approved documents and information to support the successful execution of construction activities and meet project requirements.
  • Data Collection and Reporting: Gather productivity data for pipeline installation, earthwork, concrete work, and other activities to enhance estimating accuracy and project efficiency.
  • Field and Office Collaboration: Engage in both field and office environments, as needed, to provide hands-on support during project execution and contribute to strategic planning and design phases. International assignments may include locations such as Europe, Japan, Guam, Diego Garcia, and other Pacific Island regions.

Basic Qualifications

To qualify for this opportunity, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey technical information and collaborate with stakeholders.
  • U.S. citizenship, along with the ability to successfully pass a background check to obtain necessary access to government facilities.
  • Prior internship experience in an engineering or construction-related field is highly desirable.
  • Candidates with Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification are preferred.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, with an expected travel commitment of 10-15% of the time.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is a plus and will be considered during the selection process.

As of the date of this posting, the estimated annual compensation range for this position is between $70,000 and $75,000, subject to factors such as experience, education, geographic location, client requirements, market competitiveness, and internal equity.
