In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of road and street lighting systems, from planning and design to installation, testing, and long-term maintenance. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining the reliability, efficiency, and safety of Al Ula’s electrical infrastructure, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting the vision of a world-class, sustainable urban environment.

Key Responsibilities

As the Senior Road and Street Lighting Electrical Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

• Technical Leadership and Contractor Oversight: Manage third-party contractors and service providers responsible for civil works interfaces, road electrical infrastructure, and street lighting systems. Provide technical guidance to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with contractual, regulatory, and design specifications.
• Project and Asset Management: Oversee the planning, design review, installation, testing, and maintenance of road electrical assets, including street lighting, feeder pillars, cabling, control panels, earthing systems, and protection mechanisms. Ensure all works align with approved designs, method statements, inspection test plans, and applicable Saudi public works and utility authority requirements.
• Compliance and Auditing: Conduct routine inspections, audits, and condition assessments of street lighting and road electrical infrastructure to verify safety, workmanship, asset integrity, and performance. Identify non-compliances and recommend corrective actions to maintain adherence to statutory regulations, municipal standards, and project specifications.
• Maintenance and Reliability Strategies: Develop and implement proactive maintenance schedules, emergency response protocols, and rectification plans to minimize downtime and ensure the continuous functionality of road lighting networks and electrical systems.
• Regulatory and Reporting Compliance: Ensure all electrical infrastructure and street lighting works meet Saudi public works requirements, municipal regulations, Saudi Road Code provisions, and utility authority mandates. Prepare comprehensive technical, operational, and compliance reports to document asset performance, contractor progress, and regulatory adherence.
• Technical Troubleshooting and Support: Provide expert guidance in diagnosing and resolving electrical faults, lighting failures, cable damage, control system issues, and interface constraints between electrical installations and civil works. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement effective solutions.
• Continuous Improvement and Knowledge Sharing: Drive initiatives to enhance energy efficiency, safety protocols, and best practices in the management of public road lighting and electrical infrastructure. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the team.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with a Master’s degree being highly advantageous. Certifications in relevant industry standards are a plus.
• Technical Expertise: Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, public works, and utilities, including proficiency in industry standards, regulatory frameworks, and safety protocols. Familiarity with Saudi public works requirements and municipal regulations is essential.
• Experience: A minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in road construction, electrical lighting systems, and public infrastructure projects. Proven expertise in third-party oversight, planning, inspection, and auditing of electrical systems, with a track record of successful project delivery as a technical lead.
• Project Management: Experience in large-scale master-planned developments and multi-sector interface projects, demonstrating the ability to manage complex projects from inception to completion.
• Technical and Soft Skills: Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Exceptional communication and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to adapt to evolving project requirements and work under pressure. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook.
