As a Data Center Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of high-end server and network equipment, ensuring optimal performance and uptime. Your work will span across multiple facets of data center operations, including structured cabling (both copper and fiber optic), hardware deployments, and environmental monitoring of power, cooling, and security systems. You will troubleshoot incidents with precision, maintain meticulous documentation, and collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams to enhance system efficiency and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain server and network infrastructure, including high-density rack deployments and power distribution units (PDUs).
• Execute and oversee structured cabling projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards for Cat6/6a Ethernet and OM3/OM4 single-mode fiber optics.
• Perform hardware deployments, decommissions, and upgrades while adhering to strict operational protocols and best practices.
• Monitor and manage environmental systems, including power distribution, UPS systems, and cooling infrastructure, to maintain optimal operating conditions.
• Troubleshoot technical issues promptly and effectively, minimizing downtime and ensuring system resilience.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of assets, configurations, and incidents to support audit and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, IT operations, and facility management, to align data center operations with business objectives.
• Participate in capacity planning and strategic upgrades to support evolving business needs and technological advancements.

Qualifications & Requirements

To excel in this role, you must possess a robust technical foundation and a commitment to excellence. We are looking for candidates with:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in data center operations, with a proven track record of maintaining high-availability infrastructure.
• Expertise in structured cabling, including Cat6/6a Ethernet and OM3/OM4 single-mode fiber optics, with a deep understanding of installation and troubleshooting techniques.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, enabling you to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
• Experience with rack and stack operations, including power distribution units (PDUs), UPS systems, and cooling infrastructure management.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills, ensuring clarity and consistency in all technical and operational processes.
• Physical capability to lift and maneuver equipment weighing up to 50+ lbs, and the stamina to work in demanding environments.
• Preferred certifications include:
• Data Center Certifications: CDCP, CDCS, CDCE
• Vendor Certifications: Dell, HPE, Cisco
• Network Certifications: CCNA, JNCIA
• Experience with DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) platforms
• Familiarity with ITIL practices
