Key Responsibilities

As a Linux System Administrator at Avensys, your responsibilities will include:

• Comprehensive Server Management: Lead the administration of Linux/Unix servers across diverse environments, including RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, and other distributions. Handle server installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting to maintain peak performance and reliability.
• System and Security Administration: Manage user accounts, permissions, file systems, LVM, NFS, SSH, and system services with precision. Implement robust security hardening, vulnerability remediation, and OS patch management to safeguard against threats and ensure compliance.
• Performance and Availability: Monitor server performance, capacity, and availability using advanced tools to proactively address CPU, memory, disk, network, and application-related issues. Ensure high availability and disaster recovery through strategic backup and recovery planning.
• Automation and Scripting: Develop and deploy shell scripts to automate routine administration tasks, enhancing efficiency and reducing operational overhead.
• Networking and Infrastructure: Collaborate with DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls, and networking protocols to troubleshoot infrastructure issues and optimize connectivity.
• Incident and Change Management: Lead incident response, problem resolution, and change management in production environments, ensuring minimal downtime and operational continuity.
• Collaboration and Documentation: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and coordinate closely with application, database, and network teams to align IT infrastructure with business objectives.
