We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to play a pivotal role in overseeing the performance, maintenance, and reliability of critical mechanical equipment and fleet assets within our waste management operations. Key Responsibilities

In this dynamic role, you will:

• Lead the operation and maintenance of a diverse range of mechanical equipment and machinery, including waste collection vehicles, compactors, dump trucks, containers, cranes, and operational infrastructure at transfer stations, treatment facilities, and worker accommodation camps. Your oversight will ensure these assets operate at peak efficiency, supporting the broader goals of our waste management projects.
• Develop and implement robust preventive and corrective maintenance strategies, ensuring alignment with technical specifications, industry best practices, and environmental regulations. Your expertise will be instrumental in minimizing downtime and extending the lifespan of critical equipment.
• Monitor and analyze equipment performance across all operational sites, reviewing breakdown and repair reports to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement. Your analytical insights will directly contribute to maintaining operational continuity and optimizing waste disposal systems.
• Conduct comprehensive benchmarking and analytical studies to evaluate the performance of equipment and maintenance processes. By comparing industry standards and best practices, you will provide data-driven recommendations to enhance overall operational efficiency and reduce recurrent failures.
• Ensure strict adherence to manufacturers’ guidelines and technical specifications for all field and landfill equipment. Your role will include verifying compliance with environmental safety requirements and regulatory standards to mitigate risks and ensure sustainable operations.
• Review and optimize maintenance schedules and fleet management plans, leveraging your technical expertise to propose innovative solutions that minimize operational disruptions and enhance asset reliability.
• Prepare detailed technical reports that highlight key observations related to equipment performance, failures, and system functionality. These reports will serve as critical tools for stakeholders to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Supervise field maintenance activities with a focus on upholding the highest occupational safety and quality standards (HSE). Your leadership will ensure that all workshops, operational sites, and landfill areas operate in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you will bring:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, validated by a recognized institution.
• At least 6 years of hands-on experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong focus on equipment maintenance, fleet management, or related technical domains.
• A valid professional accreditation or registration with the relevant engineering authority, demonstrating your commitment to professional standards and continuous development.
• Proven experience in mechanical equipment management, including preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• A proactive and analytical mindset, coupled with exceptional problem-solving skills to address complex technical challenges in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, supervise field activities, and present technical findings to stakeholders.
